Once you have outrun the Geji Dragon, a cutscene will play, and Rao will talk about being out of food and water. The vehicle will be parked up in a new place, and just to your left you will see a yellow rubber duck leaning against a tree. Go over to it and press 
to pick it up, and the Finders Not Keepers trophy will then unlock.

Early on in the game after you aquire the tank you will drive to a place called Napps Checkpoint where you have to shoot 2 (chains?) To lower the bridge and proceed further. Go past the bridge and head towards the yellow objective
At about 338m from the objective (or about halfway between the checkpoint and the objective) you will encounter scorpions and flying birds that attack. In the corner on the NE side you will see ores you can mine. Right beside them somewhat hard to see is a diary. Press y to pick it up and the achievement pops.

You should be able to get this earlier in Aro Village after the Geji Dragon chase. Once you get control of Beelzebub, look to the left at a tree. There should be a rubber duck at the base of it.
