Brain Field is unlocked in Phase 4, I will not state at what point as of spoiler content.
Brain Field is triggered after triggering Brain Drive. You must first fight enemies and build up Brain Drive, which will then automatically activate once the bar is full. Then press LS + RS to trigger Brain Field (once the second bar is charged and ready) and get as many kills as you can each time. Warning: if you stay in Brain Field for too long, you risk death, so watch the timer on the bottom of the screen (there are 2 achievements tied to dying here also)
A good spot after getting the skill is probably the Construction site, it’s littered with enemies, and you’d be over-leveled so it would be even easier to do. Get 50 kills with Brain Field active to unlock this

As an add-on: Brain Field only extends to the end of a single battle (meaning it will automatically deactivate after each enemy is defeated) so it's best to activate it at the start of a new encounter whenever you can.

There's also a Brain Field Gear item that gives you Brain Field instantly, not sure where I got 3 of them from but if you see a lot of enemies, you can pop one of those and go to town.

In this video guide I will show you how to finish off 50 enemies with the brain field. Brain field is your special ability you will get later in the game with a tutorial. The best method to kill enemies is using the RT ability to throw objects and keep your distance. You can also upgrade the brain field in the brain map to map things easier as well.
