Scars Above

The Alpha is the first big boss you'll encounter in the game and resembles an enormous stone-like gorilla. He comes with a bunch of annoying attacks but taking him down is pretty simple. Use your newly acquired ice gun to freeze the Alpha and then use the delay to attack the glowing orb on his chest. It takes about three direct ice shots to freeze him, so I timed my third shot to hit right as he was winding up his big two-handed slam attack. Doing so meant that when the freeze took effect, the weak point orb on his chest was completely exposed while he was frozen. I personally found the lightning gun to be most effective and damaging when attacking the orb.
