How to unlock the The colonel was wrong achievement in ScourgeBringer - Definitive Guide

As you traverse through the game: you will find computers that can be smashed by pressing your attack button (They look like 90s computers with a green monitor on them). Once they're destroyed they will drop a log item that you can pick up. After collecting some logs, you can speak to Garo at The Chiming Tree and he will setup a computer so that you can keep track of/reread the logs that you've unlocked too!

From my understanding whether or not they appear on a level is completely random, as well as what type of log they drop and WHERE on the level they appear (Although I believe rooms with shops, minibosses and bosses are exempt from this rule), therefore it's best to keep an eye out as you grind out the other achievements and collect them as you naturally come across them. There are 2 other log related achievements in total for what I believe is 5 of EACH LOG so don't worry if you've collected a ton and haven't unlocked anything yetsmile

Thank you to both EliTe I Will and SkarrKilla for confirming that only certain logs appear on a level, i.e Log 1 will only be on realm 1, log 2 on realm 2 and so on. Basically the following:

Logs 1/6/11 Realm 1
Logs 2/7/12 Realm 2
Logs 3/8/13 Realm 3
Logs 4/9/14 Realm 4
Logs 5/10/15 Realm 5

Note that since the maps are randomly generated: the location will vary each time you do a run and you run into a seed that doesn't even spawn them in.

Edit: If talking to Garo doesn't unlock the computer, you may have to exhaust his dialogue before it appears (Thanks for the info qManBallin!).

I had to talk to Garo about 100 times to go through all his dialogue options. It seems I've neglected to speak to him at all throughout this whole process. Started the next game, returned to chiming tree, finally he has a computer for use. Hope that helps if you're having a hard time accessing Garo's computer.

Thanks qManballin, I hadn't talked to him either so that was helpful. Now I can see which ones I'm missing so I know which realm to look for them in.

Should be highlighted and put front & center. I missed this and was trying to jot down notes of what i picked up and where.

I had log 7 and 12 left to collect. Both are found on the second realm. I collected both in the same run by saving the game, collecting one, crashing the game a few times (due to getting the same one) and collecting the final one. This only works if it is the last log you need. thumbs up

I could be wrong but I believe Mission Report 1 is found on level 1, Mission Report 2 on level 2 and so on. So on Level one you could either find Strange Disk1 or Mission Report 1. I think the other 5 might be on the Chaos run but not sure

dude. this is my last achievement (along with the paired Path of Enlightenment achievement). I need logs 8 and 13 from realm 3 but I've played at least a dozen EXTRA runs after beating everything else and none of the logs will spawn. Did I miss them forever? Is something glitched? I've jacked up the game speed to 150% and I'm just ramming through the first 2 levels over and over but I'm getting tired of it... Could invincibility be disabling this one? any advice?

Edit: I just got the first log that I needed.
I turned off invincibility at the chiming tree before entering the portal to start the run, but then turned it on in level 2 when I almost died due to carelessness. I don't know if this had anything to do with the log spawning it, but it's an odd coincidence.

Final edit: I was able to get both logs in a single run like the guy above. By save-scumming it: by saving on level 2 boss, quitting the game to dashboard, then beating the boss and moving through level 3. If level 3 did not contain the log, I would delete my console save and then reboot the game. It would generate a new level 3 every time. Since I was lucky enough to just need the 2 from the same level- one from this achievement and one for Path of Enlightenment, I could just pop the achievement and quit the game. Then boot the game again and hope for the other log to spawn.
