Once you get into the game proper, after the tutorials, start heading directly up. Clear each room you come to of enemies and head up again. In the third room, which is up as far as you can go, stand on the plinth and choose a reward. Nice and easy

A some sort of smiley face on the map represents the area with a pedestal. If you land on it you will receive one of 3 gifts. Pick one and the achievement will pop.
