How to unlock the Just tell me you need me! achievement in SD GUNDAM BATTLE ALLIANCE - Definitive Guide

A very straightforward, if very grindy Achievement, this one basically requires you to just play with the same partner characters for several missions.

At the mission results screen, your partner will gain XP, and points toward their friendship meter, represented by the shaking hands icons. Each time you earn enough points with a partner, one of the icons will fill up and get stamped, then you'll hear them talking to you, sadly there's no subtitles for these so just assume they're saying something nice to you. Once all 5 are filled up, the friendship bar will have a shine effect added to it, and the partner's portrait will have a gold icon.

The tips page in the game says that the number of points gained per mission will increase based on factors like healing your partners, reviving them, or clearing the mission without them ever being downed. However, the only real thing that matters is having the pilot skill called Charmer equipped at all times, as this skill can mean getting anywhere from 25% of an icon filled, to 50% in a single mission. And since you'll need to replay several missions multiple times to collect all of the blueprints, you're going to have plenty of time to complete missions with the same partners to max out their friendship meter.

Remember, don't just swap out a partner once their portrait turns gold, make SURE, that on the last mission you play with them the 5th icon of the bar fills completely, gets the animation of it being 'stamped' into place, the friendship bar gets the shine effect to it, and the partner in question talks to you. And then just to make sure, play one more mission with them. Better safe than sorry. And don't worry about "wasting" friendship points playing with a partner that is supposedly already maxed out, this game will require you to replay missions multiple times for all of the Mobile Suit Blueprints so you're going to be spending a lot of time with these different partners.

Trust me when I say it really won't matter since you can max out a particular partner in just a few missions and the sheer amount of missions you'll need to replay will negate any worry about wasting XP or anything like that.

best to be aware of this achievement from the beginning of the game and work towards it as you play
