How to unlock the Battle-Hardened achievement in Section 8: Prejudice - Definitive Guide

One thing to remember is that the teammate AI in this game isn't bad. They will actually distract and do a decent amount of damage to the enemies so abuse this as much as possible when fighting harder enemies or in large fights. I also recommend keeping a repair tool along with standard frag grenades the whole game along with either an assault rifle or and HMG( 3ed level unlock) which ever one you prefer with a rocket launcher with crash rounds( unlocked 2ed level). This way taking out vehicles and mechs aren't a problem. Just remember to use your auto lock on only on the harder targets such as lieutenant and captains as this can help out very much.

When fighting the first boss( the drop ship on the 6th level) that rocket launcher (crash rounds) is your best friend. It will take almost all 30 rockets to kill him. He will shot a mini gun at you along with make bombing markers on the area you where standing so watch out for those. When you see the whole place marked up...you should see a a platform held up on the right side jump on that....it will blow up after this barrage of rockets saddly. You should have about 12 rockets in it by now. After this go to the very bottom level and he shouldn't even be able to hit you....the area will fill up with markers but i didn't get hit at all. Just continue to fire at him till it flies away.

The second boss on the next level will be easy. You will be ( or atleast can be in a mech ) The only annoying part is he calls in rocket turrets and troops to assist him. Engineers that spawn have a tendency to heal him. I isolated him away from the turrets and killed any engineers i saw even if i was attack the boss him self.

The finial boss is easy. He will just run around and throw some sort of plasma shit at you. Simply run around in circles and watch out for the infantry that spawn..they will come in with rocket launchers. Use the supply depot as much as you can and just light him up with HMG. Napalm rockets are very effective against him but when you have to take the charge things off his back you will also take damage if he is around the blast. You can use them if you want but be careful.

Good luck to everybody.

I don't think bullet damage affects the rocket stats, you're best off putting the points to armour & sheilding for this boss fight.

if you stay towards the console you activated and keep the boss outside (especially if the window doesnt smash) the rocket guys dont even come into the room/or fire at you

The gunship fight is fucking horseshit. IF I manage to survive the entire fight, I am not even close to finishing him off. I am using crash rockets with 8 points put into anything that increases bullet damage. Two points into shield. What the hell am I doing wrong?

The final boss is even easier than how Armored Shrike6 said it was. The difficulty with him are the two rocket reinforcements that continually spawn. The key to defeating him is to go back into the room that he throws you out of and fight him from in there. This keeps the two reinforcements from spawning over and over. I used the machine gun with napalm bullets and kept strafing back and fourth at the back of the room. Then if you strafe well enough to miss his plasma shot the ground shock is the only attack that can do damage to you, if he is able to penetrate your shield make sure you have the repair tool to heal yourself. Also make sure that you are only attacking him when he comes back into the room so that you can run up to him to remove the power cylinders from his back making sure you stay within the safety of that room. Following this tactic he will go down faster than in easy.

Here's a walkthrough for the game that I made. It details enemy placements and area layouts for each level. An achievement guide, FAQ and other info are also included. Send me a message if you believe there is an error, or want to contribute to the guide in any way smile

Hard is not overly difficult, though the game has somewhat annoying checkpoints. In general, use cover as much as possible - never charge in unless you're sure you've got the advantage. Experiment with different loadouts - at any Supply Depot, you can switch your weapons, mods and upgrades.

The hardest parts tend to be the boss battles. I include strategies for these in the guide, if you feel you have a strategy for any part of the game that works, send me a message with the info and you'll be credited!

On the last level when you are against General Salvador one trick I found was to have proximity detpacks and lay them in his path or just throw them directly at him, doing this mixed with your shotgun idea I destroyed him with zero problems

Beating the game on hard will also get you Mission Accomplished 2.0. Hard mode is not too bad compared to other games out there, but there are definitely some very difficult spots. Some general tips for hard mode are to always, always have the repair tool. In a tough spot pulling out the repair tool and healing yourself or using it to repair turrets in a defensive location is a great way to help keep you alive. For almost every situation the shotgun with incendiary ammo is probably one of the best weapons to use in the campaign, before you can unlock it however I would stick with the machine gun as it allows you fire continuously at enemies without having to stop and reload. Using a detpack on a mech or an enemy with very high defense can also be a lifesaver; it takes 2-3 detpacks to blow up a mech after the shield is gone while it takes 4-5 with the missile launcher.
