To cheat your way through this achievement, we're going to want to put the game into the Debug Mode/Menu. Once you're on the title screen where Sonic is wagging his finger, you're going to want to press the following combination of buttons: (should hear and ring collecting chime) then (A) + . The game will now load 'Green Hill: Zone 1' but in Debug Mode. press then (A) to go back to the title screen.

Now to bring up the Debug Menu use the following combination of buttons: (should hear and ring collecting chime) then (A) + From here, select 'Special Stages'.

Each special stage is different in it's layout but the concept is the same. Find your way around the rotating maze until you find the Chaos Emerald. Best tactics are to jump only when you have to, so let the turning of the maze do the work and follow the rings if the path splits. When you find the Chaos Emerald, it'll most likely be surrounded by a bunch of gems which you'll have to hit or rub up against to make them vanish, thus creating a path closer to the Chaos Emerald. Be careful when making your way around a special stage level, as there are some 'Goal' blocks that you'll have to dodge as hitting one will automatically end the level but remember you can use to rewind.

Once you've obtained the Chaos Emerald, the level will end and you'll be sent back to the 'Green Hill: Zone 1'. Once here, press then (A) to go back to the title screen. Repeat the process until you have all 6 Chaos Emeralds but do not quit the game as your progress will be lost.
