Collect 7 Chaos Emeralds in one game!

How to unlock the Super Sonic achievement in SEGA Superstars Tennis - Definitive Guide
The aim is to collect 7 Chaos Emeralds which can be collected by hopping through a big coin which drops every few levels or so (need to collect coins in order for it to appear though). Once in the bonus stage simply collect all the coins (there may be a time limit but if so I never noticed) and an Emerald is yours. This needs to be repeated 7 times in order to get the achievement.
What makes this achievement hard to get is that it takes a while to do it (10-15 minutes) and staying alive for that long becomes difficult as the levels progress. On Level 8 (the last one) you'll have multiple enemies throwing a variety of bombs and jolts that alongside the coins now moving on the stage can be tricky. It is however possible with practise. After a few tries I was able to save up my lives and only lost them on the last couple of levels.
Once you get to Level 9 the difficulty resets, meaning Level 9 is the equivalent of Level 1 all over again. Set the target of getting on to Level 9 and you should be alright, I got the achievement on Level 14 or so where it started to get hard again. I did get every coin I could see though so I recommend trying to do that otherwise the chaos emeralds will take longer to get.
I did a score of over 40k (level 22) and i'm number 42 in the world for this mini game :)
To start, I chose Shadow the Hedgehog. Next, I followed up with sweeping left to right motions across the court, not necessarily going for every single ring. The sweeping motion keeps the spikes spread out, and paces the time it takes for you to get rings. I noticed that more 1ups appeared when I took my time and made it look like I needed help. Be sure to stay on the outsides and bottom as well in case bombs appear. What I mean by that is, the game starts with forming groups of 3 rings, then groups of 4 as you progress, then groups of 5, and finally by the 8th (and every other divisble-by-8 level) level groups of 5 rings that move around the court. Well sometimes, instead of the appropriate grouping of rings, one of the rings is replaced by a stationary bomb that outlasts the grouping of rings, so it needs to be avoided in order to get all the rings.
JUST PLAY CAUTIOUSLY, even if you have many lives. Don't try going for every single ring if it's too dangerous, especially when the robots start launching their spikes without hesitation. Just swing around the court in sweeping left to right movements to dodge, and collect what you can as you do so.
Doing this, I got the final emerald around level 14 or 15. Trying this strategy I got the achievement on my first try, versus just going for rings which I lost about 6 times before switching strategies.
Good luck, and extra good luck going for the AAA achievement X(
1) Clearing ten sets of rings will advance the level. I know that the early levels if you get 10 groups of 3 or 4 rings on each level it advances to the next.
Go to Games mode on the main menu and choose sonic the hedgehog game. You have to collect coins while avoiding bombs and spiky balls. Once you collect enough coins a big coin will appear which will take you to a "bonus stage". The chaos emerald will appear once you collect all rings in the bonus stage. You have to survive enough to get to 7 bonus stages.
My advice is that you take your time and DO NOT be greedy, if you think it's too risky to get a set o coins just let it go.
Eventually lives, bubble shield and invincibility items will appear which will help you to stay alive. The difficulty progresses until level 8. After that it will be reset and progress again until level 16 (and so on).
Aim to survive until level 16. You probably should get it before that. ( I got mine on level 14th and misses some coins ). On the last level the coins will be moving in the field. Do not risk you live to get them. They will eventually move close to you.
For anyone who is still struggling ,especially those with below average PERIPHERAL VISION and REFLEXES , I highly recommend you use the start/pause button. Constantly pausing the game will give you a slow-motion effect.
You should be able to plan and predict the trajectory of the spikes and bombs with ease.
KNOWLEDGE:
Be aware that after level 8, the levels are reset. This gives you a great opportunity to gather some lives and a shield if possible, and also to keep collecting your emeralds.
POWER-UPS:
If things aren't going your way with these, restart the level. On the run where I finally got the achievement, I was lucky enough to get two 1UPs early on. I wasted them soon after, but if you can make the most of them early on they will certainly help you out when things start to get a little tougher. Shields are very beneficial, since they won't disappear until you take a hit. Invincibility and Speed Boost are the less desirable power-ups, but should be taken advantage of regardless.
TIMING:
Don't rush for a coin just because it's there. As far as I'm aware, the big bonus-level coins appear after a certain number of coins have been collected, but that doesn't mean you should strain yourself to get every last one. If things are a little hectic, wait it out until the next level starts or until the coins are a little closer to you.
PERIPHERAL VISION:
You may be wondering what I'm talking about here. Basically you need to be looking at more that one thing at any one time, namely your character and the things going on around you. You should keep your eyes on your character at all times to make sure you don't hit anything, but also be aware of the projectiles around you and the order in which they are about to land. I found this to be very important to succeeding here.
MOVEMENT:
Since you probably won't get this achievement on your first try, use your first few attempts to simply get used to moving around. Your enemies' shots will fire in the direction you are standing at that moment, so it's very easy to draw their fire and evade. On the later levels where you're having to dodge more projectiles, it is crucial that you stay on the move. Going around the outer edges of the court works very well, as long as you don't backtrack. If you do, you will likely be hit by a ball/bomb that was aiming for where you were just stood.
PATIENCE:
Don't expect to get this achievement quickly; attempt it when you have more than a couple of hours to spare. If you're having a bad run, don't restart straight away; practice makes perfect with this achievement. Also, the run in which I got the achievement was by no means flawless. I actually made it from levels 9 to 15 with one life, and without taking a single hit, so if things are looking bleak be sure to continue since you never know how it may turn out. I got my last chaos emerald on level 15, so don't expect to get it much sooner than this.
PERSEVERANCE:
Above all else, keep your cool. I got very frustrated after failing this a few times, but kept at it and managed to succeed. If you get too annoyed with the game, take a quick break and come back to it. Things will go your way eventually.
If you've taken my advice, this achievement should be yours before long. If you still can't manage it, feel free to message me on TA or Xbox Live, and I'll do my best to help you out.
To get this achievement you must do it in the games section, NOT in the Superstars mode. Go to Games on the main menu, then select single player, then choose a character, then select the Sonic The Hedgehog game. This can be frustrating and might just be the toughest achievement in the game. You goal is to collect rings and get to the bonus stages where you get emeralds by gathering all coins in a bonus stage. All I can tell you is to keep moving, don't try for coins that are near the top (AKA being greedy) and always collect the power ups that appear aside from the speed one since that seems to hurt you more then anything. A good thing to remember when you're playing, is making it to level 9 will basically restart your easy factor since level nine is the same as level one.
If you get a life while 1 life left, and get hit, you'll lose, you don't gain a life at all, so be careful.
If you have the shield, with invincibility shield, get hit, you'll lose both shields, and a life. go figure right?
GRAB the shield, rings, or Lives before you enter bonus ring, they'll disappear once you get the emerald.
Rings from the ring BOX do count towards the bonus ring spawn.
I think its 100 rings to spawn a Bonus ring, I cant 100% tell yet.
the thunder ball thing they shoot. even if it don't roll. IT STILL HURTS,
its 30 rings to beat level 1,
and 30 rings to beat level 2, ring box don't help get level ups.
I did not get a bonus ring, after i got hit, with my own rings i picked back up.
And no, he dont actually go super sonic.
