How to unlock the Lost and Found achievement in Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World - Definitive Guide

I personnaly got a shield (don't remember which one) dropped by a little gorilla in the beginning of round five.
So it seems to be very random but one thing to know :
- It HAS to be an armour, a shield or boots : sword drop by, for example, the vampire in round 2 doesn't count, neither the wingboots, nor the helmet or the gauntlet dropped by other monsters.

Exactly how I got it - round five, killing one of those gorillas.

Same here. It was the kite shield and I got it on my second play through pretty easily. Also if you already have the item that the enemy can drop or something better, then they won't drop it. If you get all legendary stuff too early enemies won't drop armor items.

Pain in the butt having to go back and play this game again for an item drop. Last achievement I need. At least I can continue and don't have to be so careful.

Got mine in under 30 minutes by picking up armor and stuff along the way and the new sword then saving before 5 started then 3 runs through of the gorillias, on the last one of the 3rd run, dropped the shield. Best way to do this.

I've been killing gorillas for an hour now and no luck. What am I doing wrong? I have 2 upgrades available for all armor items (Legendary and the ones below that). Really tired of killing these guys and getting winged boots...

Started over and bought only the lowest level shield and nothing else. Killing the apes got me Cloth Boots which popped this. I would highly recommend adding something to the solution to point out you have to have basically zero upgrades to have a chance to get this achievement in level 5.

The red, jumping, spitting octopus can drop ceramic boots when defeated. I got this in Round 9, but I've seen them drop boots in Round 10 as well. You'll find them scattered about throughout the second half of the game.

Ceramic boots are the second best boots next to Legendary. Farming them can be a nice way to save yourself 180 gold for the upgrade, but be mindful of the hourglass as always.

You get certain items from various enemies. For this achievement you need to get either Shoes, Shield or Armour from them. So if you have fully upgraded those 3 you can't get this achievement. The earliest you can get this is round 5 with the rock throwing gorillas. If you want to get the achievement as soon as possible you could save state just before you get to them and reload if they don't drop the goods.
