How to unlock the Master of the Prosthetic achievement in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition - Definitive Guide
This achievement will require at the very minimum 2 playthroughs, and on both playthroughs you MUST choose to Honor Kuro's code to access the final area of the game.
You can only get 6 lazuli per playthrough, and you need 10 to fully upgrade the 4 Prosthetics at the end of the skill tree.
Locations of Lapis Lazuli:
You get 1 for completing the Great Carp achievement by feeding it either of the Pot Nobles Truly Precious bait, an item will be where the Pot noble was before. (Must spend 12 Treasure Scales with either merchant to get the bait to complete the quest)
You can buy 2 per playthrough from the Pot Noble Merchant for 6 treasure scales each
You get 1 for beating the Schichimen Warrior in the Fountain Palace waterfall under the giant bridge
You get 2 from the Demon of Hatred boss in Ashina Outskirts End/Post game
Another rare ingredient you need for most upgrades is Fulminated Mercury, this can easily be farmed End/Postgame (Ashina Castle must be on fire) with the Golden Vortex upgrade for the Divine Abduction Prosthetic and a Mibu Possession Balloon.
Teleport to the Ashina Castle bonfire at the bottom of the large steps, Pop a Mibu Possession balloon (increases droprate of items), activate Golden Vortex, run straight into the middle of all 5 mobs standing on the stairs, activate your Golden Vortex again and the enemies will all drop their loot without dying, pick it up, rest at the idol and repeat. You can get atleast 1-2 Fulminated mercury before run if you're lucky, and potentionaly more with the Demon bell buff.
*Note if you have rung the Demon bell, this also increases drop rates of items if you aren't getting lucky*
If you're running low on money for upgrades, this is also a valid way to farm the cash you'll need.

i farmed fulminated mercury at the gun fort idol, i had the bell rung and no ballons, they dropped it quite often and in less than 10 minutes i had 7 fulminated mercury for the last 2 upgrades. the lump of grave wax can be farmed at the Flower Viewing Stage idol, there´s an enemy that drops it with the bell rung and the ballon. those 2 materials were the hardest to find in game, lapis lazuli is like the op said, it needs 2 playthrouhs and there´s no way to farm them as far as i know, this item is like the slabs from the souls games.

Does that mean there’s no real way to 1000g it in 2 playthroughs? Or would it just require 2.5 since you would only need to play until you got the lapis? Or go for the lapis in first 2, then do a quick shura ending?
