Lady Butterfly is found within the Hirata Estate after the Hirata Audience Chamber Sculptor's Idol which is found after the Mini-Boss Juzou the Drunkard.
She has 2 phases with the second adding a move to her arsenal which allows her to summon illusions which follow and attack you, after a short period she then clicks her fingers and they turn into homing missiles of which can be blocked by the wooden posts found in the arena.
Best way I found to kill Lady Butterfly is to dodge to one side and then slash her and repeat. If performed correctly and in-time this will stop her from carrying out most attacks. Through this method I was able to defeat her first phase without getting hit or deflecting and defeated her second phase using 2 gourd uses due to messing up the timing.
This method doesn't purely focus on the posture system though if performed in-time it does make her vulnerable to a deathblow through posture depletion . In my first phase I got her through posture and the second stage depleted her health bar.

You could also mention that a cheese strategy for her is the Nightjar Slash Combat Art.
It is also possible to fit a normal attack in between the Combat Art spam, meaning Combat Art - Normal Attack - Combat Art - Normal Attack and so on. This will lead her into an almost never ending stun-lock. She will mostly just try to block the attacks therefor increasing her posture-gauge. Most can be made out of this strategy if Lady Butterfly is with her back against the wall. It is possible for Lady Butterfly to break out of the stun-lock to get into the air. If that happens just wait for her to jump off and hit her with a shuriken resulting in her falling to the ground and creating an opening for closing the gap

In this video guide I will show you how to beat Lady Butterfly. Now this boss fight is at the end of the Hirata Estate in the dream. Once you get the key from your dad when you reach the burning estate, you will eventually reach a door to use the key. This will be shortly after beating the drunken mini boss. Now a few tips on beating her would be you might want to wait until you upgrade your health some before attempting this fight and having a decent amount of gourd seeds.Other than that just attack her for a few hits get out the way and come back again for a few hits. When she goes in the air wait a second then throw a shuriken to knock her down and hit her a few times. Repeat until the second stage. Now you can use snap seeds to get rid of the ghostly illusions but is not required. Just keep using the same tactics as before and be sure to hide behind a pillar from the butterflies when she disburses the illusions. It might take a few tries but learn her pattern and keep at it.
