If you miss one of these during your main play through, can you just quit the level once you find it during a replay or do you have to finish for it to be saved?

I will confirm you only need to pick it up, no need to finish the level. Just goto main menu as soon as you get the item!

The achievement seems to be buggy for me. I am pretty sure, that i have picked up every secret item first in the contract and it does not popped for me.

Same here. Picked up all the items but didn't pop. I unlocked 11 clothes and 10 bonus levels.

I got all the items and the clothing achievement didn't click. Can someone help me?

If you are having trouble unlocking this you need to replay the game from the start. Wipe all of your save data from console & cloud and then run through the game. You don’t need to worry about getting 100% of the blood in each level (unless you still need that achievement) so you can get through the 20 levels in around 3 hours if you don’t make too many mistakes

Confirming that clearing save data and replaying will unlock the achievements, it did for me this time.

There is a video provided by Hidden Object Guru that details the location of every collectible item within the game's twenty contract levels. This is a meta-trophy that tracks not only the costumes unlocked but the movie contract levels as well. The following two trophies are tracked under this:

In each story contract, there is one secret item you can find. This can be either a new outfit for the Cleaner to wear while on contracts or a film reel that will unlock a bonus contract. It can be hard to keep track of which contracts you have the secret item for, since there is no sign saying you have collected the item from the contract so I recommend starting from mission 1 and going up.
