How to unlock the Make 'Em Scream achievement in Shadow Complex - Definitive Guide
There are many ways to make a soldier scream. Just to list a few that I've found so far, shooting an exploding barrell close by an enemy, blowing them up with a grenade, shooting an electrical wire and frying them, shooting them while on a mounted machine gun, making a bomba explode on them. Basically anything that involves fire will make them scream, I'm sure there are many others as well. You should be able to get this in one playthrough without much effort.
DVxJAKE also adds that if you melee or shoot an enemy and they fall of a ledge afterwards they will scream.

I'm not sure and couldn't find anything concrete when I searched. If anyone has info on this it would be helpful. But to be safe you should assume it doesn't carry over.

Also if you beat down/shoot someone and they fall they scream.

The easiest way for me was to shoot at their legs, with the last gun you get, the blast sends them flying. Also punching them when you have the armor sometimes sends them really far, which I think makes them scream.

It all seems a bit random to me. More often then not I really hear them scream out but the game doesn't count it :(

The counter doesn't come up every time. I noticed that I got a few screams without a popup, and another later with a popup, but it was +4 instead of +1.

This is more luck based than anything but there are a few things you can do to encourage a soldier to scream. While wearing the the power suit and pulling a melee kill, shooting barrels near your enemies and kicking a Bomba towards your enemies. You can also throw grenades but this is more of a trial and error achievement, you should be able to earn it by the end of the game.
The other guides here are already helpful, but I wanted to share a few things I verified through trial and error.
- Your scream count DOES carry over between playthroughs. All of the Achievements with counters keep the count even if you start a new game, as long as you SAVE before quitting your current game.
- The counter does NOT go up every time an enemy screams, just like it doesn't every time you get a headshot. They don't always register for some reason. However, the counter doesn't pop up every time your counter does go up.
- Don't obsess over getting them to scream, or try to farm them. Progress in the game until you get the armor, then constantly sprint up to enemies and melee them with . I got so many more screams (that counted) just from Falcon Punching terrorists off the screen. Plus your combo multiplier increases more from melee kills, netting you more experience than shooting.
- If you are trying to knock out this Achievement on it's own (for a contest or something), you'll likely end up doing some farming anyway. Find a group of enemies near a save point that has at least one screamer. Very often, if you quit and continue, the same one that screamed will do it repeatedly.
- If you are going for the Completionist Achievement, you'll naturally get this on that playthrough, as long as you melee everyone you meet once you have the armor. You'll get plenty of screams while exploring. Don't forget to save whenever you have the opportunity, in case you die. Have fun!
