How to unlock the Thanksgiving achievement in Shadow of the Tomb Raider - Definitive Guide
The first step to completing this is acquiring the "Serpent's Glint" skill as a part of Scavenger (green) section. After this, you'll want to craft flare rounds for you pistol.
Next, to find the turkey, you'll want to go to the Mission of San Juan, and travel to the Ruined Tower campsite. Walk around slowly and the turkeys should eventually spawn, but can get spooked if you get near them. Once they spawn, shoot your flare at one and land a direct hit in order for the achievement to unlock.

NOTE: If you are still having trouble getting them to spawn, go to the above mentioned location, completely close the game, then continue your game. This will cause them to spawn every time. Thanks to user "Sighris" for the recommendation.

If you’re having trouble getting one to spawn, fast travel to camp in video then quit to main menu then reload. Tried this 3x and every time when I loaded in there was one immediately.

It's not spawning for me no matter what I do. I've quit to main menu and reloaded a bunch, and also tried fast traveling to another camp and going back to ruined tower.

took a lot of messing around but did find one sure fire way to get them to spawn.

Before you can roast a turkey alive, you must first unlock the Serpent's Glint skill. This skill will allow you to craft flare rounds for your pistols.
Travel to the Ruined Tower base camp in the Mission of San Juan. Here, there are usually three or four turkeys running around. You may need to wait a little bit or walk around the immediate area for the turkeys to spawn into the world. Once the turkeys appear, equip your pistol and fire a flare round () at one of the birds in order to unlock the achievement.

I don’t know if this is a coincidence or real advice, but I killed about twenty and there was no trophy. A friend with the same problem advised me that you need to shoot the turkey in the ass. And they gave me a trophy, maybe it will help someone.

Location .
If the turkeys do not respawn, restart the game. It helped me.

I stood there for half an hour and there was not one. I made transitions and it didn’t help. Completely closed the game and the turkey appeared in the bush without leaving

I also encountered the fact that after the turkeys were shot, they no longer appeared. Only after a complete restart of the game! I also moved from camp to camp, restarted the save point, killed myself on rocks in the river, nothing helped. I managed to solve this problem) You just need to turn on insight ), the turkeys will run out of the bushes on their own), if they don’t run out right away, then run around the bushes until the effect of insight ends. By the way, you don’t have to shoot her in the ass; they gave me a trophy when I shot her from a distance right in the chest while she was standing still.
