Mezu is an angel-like creature with a huge spear. All of his attacks can be easily avoided by circle strafing , dashing to the sides using

+ when the attack is about to hit you, or running away with .Battle arena is circled by a series of pick-ups of ammunition and medkits. Every now and then, run around the arena picking that objects (specilaly rockets for the launcher), and don't forget to heal yourself regularly using
, , 
when your health is low.The strategy for destroying Mezu is as follows:
- There are 3 "seals" in the ground, marked with blue light. Stand on one of them, and a bar will appear on the top of the screen. You'll need to stand in the seal until the bar empties. Mezu will shoot energy balls at you while you're at it, so dodge them (even getting out of the seal if neccesary).
- When the bar is empty, Mezu will attack you. As happened with Gozu, you'll have to shoot the glowing part of his armor until it breaks, and then you'll have to destroy the crystal that hides under it. As Mezu is flying and moving constantly, the best way to crack his armor is using the machine gun. When the crystal shows, he will be standing still, so you can use the crossbow (sticky bombs work like a charm) or the rocket launcher to break the crystal.
- Open the second seal, and destroy the other side of his armor. When you open the third seal, a huge circular door will open in the center of the arena. Stay away from it, because if you are standing on it when it opens, you will die.
- Mezu will fly to the door and try to close it. It's your turn to destroy his wings. Aim for the broad part of them, and shoot a few rockets. If you don't manage to destroy his wings in this first chance, open the three seals (this time the bar will empty faster) and try again.
- Without his wings, Mezu will not be very different from the first boss. His last armor part, his chest, will be glowing. Destroy it, and then the last crystal (rocket launcher works fine here) and, voilá, he's dead and you are 30Gs richer.

Story related, you encounter Mezu in Chapter 11. Weapon ammo and health will continuously spawn around the edge of the arena, you should pick some of this up not only help you with the fight but also to supply you for the upcoming chapters.
Upon starting the fight, stand on the highlighted circle on the ground for approximately 10 seconds until the bar at the top of the screen runs out. Once the bar runs out, Mezu will fly over to the arena. As with Gozu, certain components of his armour will glow. Shoot them to reveal a crystal, then shoot the crystal to eventually deplete some of Mezu's health.
Repeat the process and you'll find eventually that when he flies over to the arena, he will try to close two doors which have opened up on the ground. As he does this, his wings will glow blue. Shoot at them as quickly as possible as you did with his armour. As you repeat the same tactics and Mezu’s health declines further, he will then remain in the arena. Shoot the glowing armour on his chest to reveal the crystal, then shoot the crystal to eventually kill Mezu. Complete the battle on normal difficulty or higher to earn the trophy.
