How to unlock the The Puppeteer achievement in Shadows of the Damned - Definitive Guide

There is no specific point in the game where this needs to be accomplished but I would recommend doing this after you obtain the Teethgrinder at the very least. It's multiple shots allows this achievement to be much more feasible. You just need to aim anywhere from kneecap to upper thigh on a normal demon and let loose. Keep firing till you can confirm the kill. The achievement is random but it will pop using this technique just keep trying at it. The above solution is a great place in the game to push for this.

Played through the game once. Now on the hard difficulty well i have to choose that difficulty after the intro. Got it right there, right at the beginning! :)

Your best bet is to lay out a group of normal demons with the teether or whatever you have...I came to a part in the game where a group of about 7 came out of a cave and I just went full auto and it popped...so it does take some luck but you have the numbers on your side

I believe this is Act 3 Chapter 3. I got this today after a few tries. One thing I thought I'd add - stand quite close to monsters. My first few attempts were at a reasonable distance and all failed. But eventually I thought I'd stand right up close and it worked first time. As soon as you shoot the leg(s) off, just aim up ever so slightly and you should get the head before the monster hits the gound.

Did this somewhere in Act 2 not long after you get the teether. I used PoundHounds trick to stand close and it worked like a charm. Thanks dude wink

A great spot to get this is right after you acquire the upgrade in Act 3-3.

You will be on a path with barrels containing ammo and you will pass a locked baby face gate on the right. Continue on to a dead end where enemies will climb over a fence at you.

Here do as the other guides say and aim low for knee / thigh and then pray for the head.

They come in 2 or 3 groups of 3 so if they all die and you don't get it 2 armoured ones will come at you. Simply let these 2 kill you for a quick reload to try again.

Got it in 4 attempts this way, in less than 5 minutes.

This will likely be one of the two most difficult ones for you. The best way to do this is to use the dentist as seen in this wonderful video:

I suggest trying this once you get The Dentist upgrade. Don't try to hard, just play through as you would and aim for the legs on the demons, if you get lucky, when they fly back you'll also get a headshot. I couldn't get it when I was trying, but as luck would have it, I got it shortly after I gave up and did the above.

This is one of the harder trophies in the game next to Nasty Headache.

As per the trophy description, you'll need to shoot off a Demon's legs then quickly kill it with a head shot while it's still in the air. Note that the slow motion camera effect does not and probably won't trigger; so that's not required for the trophy. An easy way to earn this is with The Teethgrinder. Get close, but not too close, and fire at a demon's leg, and when you shoot them off, aim upwards just a bit towards their head while they're still in the air. With any luck, you'll shoot off their head, earning you the trophy.

There's no real strategy to this trophy other than to practice, practice, practice until you get it. Once you're able to pull it off, the trophy will unlock. Be glad you only had to that once!

Quite a murky achievement, I did it purely by accident. The advice for getting it is simple - take the TEETHGRINDER and hit the crowd of demons with it - first on the legs, then wherever necessary. You need to be very dexterous to shoot off the head of a flying enemy, and with this weapon that shoots “loose” there is a pretty good chance of doing this. Go for it.

I'll correct Damien a little. The achievement is not at all obscure - the task is to hit the demon in the head when he is in the air. Since the game must be completed 3 times in any case, I would advise getting this achievement in the following way:

We take a pistol, pump it up to maximum damage (5 red stones) and then try it on simple demons (the main thing is that they are not wearing a gas mask). We shoot in the leg - the demon flies up, without moving the aim, we continue to shoot, sooner or later you will hit the head...

Personally, I succeeded on average difficulty level on about the 7th try...
