How to unlock the Queen of the Seven... Cheese? achievement in Shantae: Half-Genie Hero - Definitive Guide

Marso1's solution is definitely the way to go. However, the biggest issue is knowing when to start attacking in mouse mode. Risky Boots has a lot more HP than I expected. Guessing was getting me nowhere so I got to testing.

As far as I can tell, Risky has EXACTLY 2000 HP.

The smartest method, as long as you have the magical tiara, is to hit her with Obliterate 79 times. This will leave her with only 25 HP. Then switch to mouse mode and finish her off. You could whip her three times with fully upgraded hair, leaving only 1 HP, but no reason for unnecessary risk at that point in my opinion.

If you don't have the tiara it'll be more bothersome to count. That's 249 whips with fully upgraded hair before taking down the final 8 HP with the mouse. More annoying but still manageable if you can keep count.

If you screw up, a dashboard and reload will take you right back to before the fight.

I think it been patched or something because just getting the final hit with the mouse isn't working for me. I did it twice and got nothing.

Edit: It still works, the achievement just popped incredibly late for me. Like a good 15 minutes later.

I did it entirely with the Mouse Bite, including the Tinkerbats. Didn't keep count, and used 8 potions to stay alive through the battle, achievement popped at the start of the cutscene.

This guide doesn't tell me how to USE this obliterate power.
Haven't played this game in over 2 years, coming back to finish the achievements and getting quite frustrated that I cannot find anywhere at all on the internet how to use this ability. It's collected in my inventory, but can't seem to find how to actually use it. Frustrated.

Confirming this, although I cautiously stopped with Obliterate at 78. Thanks for sharing.

Did all 79, worked a treat. Should be the top solution.

FruitofPassion, press Y to enter dance options. I think obliterate is on the d-pad, right. It's not the mouse or the monkey... looks like a round ball of fire, with smoke at the bottom and stars at the top.

It's easier in fact: Hit her with all your strenght in genie form and scimitars, obliterate or other magic you want. JUST CHANGE TO MOUSE FORM IN THE LAST MOMENT. Be careful not to overhit her. Otherwise it will take to use wistle and wrap magic to restart . If done carefully it only takes 2 minutes not 15.

I was able to estimate when she would die by beating her a few times with a stop watch running. I did nothing other than hair whipping, and was decently consistent about tracking her. Every time, I would beat her around 1:48 which is about 30 seconds after she has finished one attack cycle (assuming the “riding an anchor while bad guys jump off boats” phase is the end of the cycle). After the bad guys, she kind of jumps around and shoots at you and stuff for another 30-45 seconds.

So what I did was fought her like that for around a minute and a half and then switched to the mouse and just spammed attacks at her, disregarding taking damage. I did go too early, and finally beat her shortly after another bad guy cycle. Probably took about 50 hits from the mouse after that 1:30 mark

I did exactly as Marso 1 said and got the achievement waaaayyyyy faster. I'd go with this one if you don't wanna waste too much time trying to get this achievement. The timing is the only problem but it works. Thanks Marso 1

Confirmed, there is absolutely no need to torture yourself by doing the entire fight as a mouse.

Is there any way to know when she's close to being beaten so you can switch? Also, I assume if you miss thos you have to waot until your next playthrough to dp it as each boss disappears once defeated?

This isn't hard, just painful, literally. Make sure you have the mouse bite relic from (level). During the Risky fight, transform to mouse. When she's stationary in the corners or right after floating down the middle, get close and hammer that X button. Takes about 15 minutes. Not sure if you can use anything else to kill the adds, but you definitely can use food and heal magic.

When Risky is hanging on her anchor and she sends the tinkerbats towards you, you can kill the minions with any attack you want (hair whip should one shot them), just make absolute sure you don't accidentally hit Risky as she's swinging.

Yeah with the right gear you can absolutely trivialize this fight (Magical Tiara, Super Revive Dance, and Invincibility), with the hardest aspect being both your patience and making sure not to break your X button.

Wail away at her when you can, then when she jumps up on the anchor, use Super Revive Dance followed by Invincibility. Take out the Tinkerbats, then repeat the process when Risky floats back down.

You can use magic and hair whip to defeat Risky.
But your last hit must be the mouse bite.

I had a feeling that might be the case but I didn't want to risk it and just did the whole fight with only mouse damage lol

I have a few helpful tips to help you get this.
1) Don't use any magic (other than Invincibility if you have the Magic Tiara) to damage her. Instead, focusing on just the hair whip will help to plan this some.
2) Hopefully, by this point, you have both the speed and damage upgrades for your hair, so you should be doing streams of 8 damage with every hit.
3) The Mouse Dance (rewarded after completing Cape Crustacean (in other words, World 3)) and the Mouse Bite (found in Tassel Town post-boss) are required for this. While the dance is forced, the Bite is optional. With it, you will be able to do damage to enemies when out of mazes, but you'll be stuck with 1 damage.
4) Because of 2 and 3, go through one and a half to two complete cycles of hitting Risky as Shantae to whittle her health down some. Once you are ready, go into Mouse and remain there (until she departs via cannon). The choice places to wait for her are on either side of the arena, where she runs to after her jumps. Spam the Mouse Bite while being near the wall so you can: avoid her shots, avoid her feet, and avoid her sword swipes, all while still damaging her.
5) Despite my suggestion in 4, it will still take you a bit. It is better to be safe than sorry for this fight simply because of the boss trio this entire set is (and unless you want to keep quit/restarting the fight, going under her threshold is better than going over).

Risky Boots is the seventh boss in the game (see Pummeled Pirate) and you will need Mouse Bite in order to do this (see Relic Collector). Defeating Risky is normally not too difficult, but defeating her as a Mouse is a bit challenging because Mouse Bite only deals 1 damage. Only the killing blow needs to be in Mouse form, but there is no way of telling how much health she has left. You can (and should) weaken her using items and other attacks before transforming into a Mouse. Once you feel she is close to being defeated, turn into a Mouse and chomp away. A turbo controller will save your thumb a lot of pain.

According to optimusmart's walkthrough, you need to hit Risky around 240 individual times with the hair whip (at maximum upgrade) before switching to Mouse form and dealing the final bit of damage.
