You will get this for reaching level 10. You get xp for damaging enemies, hitting "skill shots" such as double xp or portals, and by completing matches. If you back out of a match before it concludes all xp earned is forfeited.

This can be done in a lobby with a friend boosting, may get boring after a while though. This is a fun game so I would recommend people to try and do normal matchmaking but this option is available if you need it.
