Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter

Note: This can be done before or after “Mechanical Art.”

During the ‘A Study in Green’ case, you visit a man in a hospital named James Byron. After a brief conversation, he leaves for his consultation. As you search his belongings in the cubicle you discover a partial address. When you’re done, the doctor returns and informs you that Mr. Byron has left. You deduce that Mr. Byron is Mr. Albeit.

You return to 221B Baker St. and look at the map next to the door, first searching an area that has an opium den, a crowded market, a circus and a place that sells Chinese tobacco (from the start point on the map, move to the right and you’ll locate the area just north of the curve of the River Thames). Once you have found the area, go over the map until you find ‘Brook Street’ (off center and to the right, below the piece of paper [south then slightly east of the wide street ‘Commercial Road’]).

Travel to Albeit’s house and force yourself through the door with an axe. Upon entering the room, you need to use Watson to push Holmes out of the way of an arrow. With Holmes hiding behind boxes, peek to the left and pick up the dropped axe. Then make your way to the right and you’ll see a table that can be overturned for protection. If you press , you will use your detective mode and see that by cutting a rope will drop a curtain in front of the balcony where the assailant is.

Switch to Watson and use your pistol to provide cover for Holmes. Aim and shoot at the balcony. When you’ve run out of bullets, Holmes will dash to the table and overturn it. Push the table forward by tapping until you reach the wall. Cut the rope which will drop the curtains. You will immediately switch to Watson and need to yell “Above You!” to Holmes to avoid a suit of armor dropping on him.

As Holmes, make your way up the stairs, avoiding the tumbling statue head. When you reach the top of the stairs, Holmes will say, “Watson, come here! He’s behind the screen!” A short cutscene will play and when you have control again, the achievement will unlock.
