How to unlock the Rampant betrayal achievement in Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom - Definitive Guide

Defeating Kaorys is one of two final endings to the game. The ending is determined on the choices you make throughout the game. To get this ending, be as douche, dickish and mean as you can be. I will list some of the main choices that will help you achieve this ending, and some reassurance, I played with a mixture of good and bad choices and achieved it so there is a lot of leeway. I recommend on your first playthrough, play like you want to and go for the other ending specifically in your second playthrough.

Choices for ending:
-When you meet Skulfon when you first become Poky, take him out.
-After fighting Grorim (Metal Jaw Gromiz), kill him
-Do not give Zlog the Explorer the book of spells, and defeat him
-In Manatara, get rotten tomatoes and throw at Askel
-In Giant's Hall, beat up Bagogue
-During "A Spy in Mantara" side quest, accuse Counselors

To fight Kaorys at the end of the game, you will need to make as many "bad" choices during the game as possible. The situations where you need to make a decision are as follows:

  • When you meet Skulfon, beat him up.
  • After beating Grorim, kill him.
  • Kill Zlog the Explorer.
  • In Manatara City, throw tomatoes at Askel.
  • In Giant's Hall, beat up Bagogue.
  • During the "A Spy in Mantara" side-quest, accuse the counselors.

These are the only ones the developer mentioned when I asked about the endings, but basically be a dick whenever possible. Other decisions may also impact the ending.
