How to unlock the Happy 50th, Walter achievement in Shoot Many Robots - Definitive Guide

I believe that the nuts you collect don't matter for your level. I say this, because there were a few times where I would die and lose all the nuts I had collected after my last checkpoint, which means I would have to replay part of a stage... yet I would get a level up before hitting the section I died at. So, even though the nuts I collected before dying reset, it seems like my XP didn't.

Based on my experience, you seem to get more XP if you play the stages that you should be at. By this, I mean that you should play through normal (maybe redoing a few stages here and there to get money for better equipment) and beat the game, then move on to hard and insane. If you simply keep playing normal, hitting level 50 will take much longer.

In order to hit level 50, I had to...

1 - Beat the game on normal.
2 - Replay 5-10 stages for extra $$$
3 - Beat the game on hard.
4 - Replay 5-10 stages (on hard) for extra $$$
5 - Achievement popped halfway through the first stage on insane.

All told, it took about 12 hours total. I had a lot of fun with it though, and it never felt like a grind.

Based on comments from DaywalkerUK and Cringer85, you seem to level up faster if you play with someone who is a higher level than you. So, if you can find a level 50 character who wants to play with you, you will probably level up even faster.

yes. there is a progress bar right next to your level nr. also, it's a lot faster leveling up just playing online. found a game with a level 50 character and leveled from 5 to 42 in 1,5 hours just playing.

Alright, I'll remove that paragraph. I don't have the game any more (deleted it after I beat it), so I'll take your word(s).

That's right.
If you die you will lose all nuts and the equipment you found after the last checkpoint. You will keep your XP but you HAVE TO finish the stage for them to save them on your profile.

Anyone playing this game now has it easy as there's only level 50's still playing. I went from level 1 to level 46 in 4 hours last night.

You don't even need to play, just join a game and sit by the flag. You'll level up with ease with level 50's playing on insane

^At such a low level you're character can't really inflict any damage anyway so it's pretty much worth staying back if you're with level 50's, however if you do get downed than you won't gain any xp.

Your mention of playing at the appropriate difficulty level is the most useful bit for single-players; I went back to Normal to mop up some cash, but both XP and money were a fraction of what I was earning in Hard mode. I played through a whole stage (5 missions) of Normal, and my level 45 XP bar increased less than 5%. When I played two stages of Hard, it was nearly 20% filled.

Great tip on playing the levels you need for progression. I found the quickest xp gained were on the levels I still needed stars in.

I should also add that if you play any levels in the game, and can't beat them, you lose all the XP you gained trying to make it to the end. Lets say you're on Hard difficulty, been playing for 20-30 mins on Factory and you quit or run out of time, kiss good bye to everything you accumulated in those 30 mins.

You do level up much faster playing with higher level characters. I was level 23, as was my mate. My daughter played through the normal campaign with us using a new character and by the end she was exactly the same level as us (35). It seems like you get a certain amount of XP for campaign progression rather than anything else and if someone at a lower level is playing with you then their XP increases to catch up with yours.

If u dont care too much about stars and beating all levels and unlock insane the best Place to farm for xp would be outskirt ambush in battle of the bludge on hard difficulty. Good easy map just left and right no ups and downs and alot of robots.

Also i would recommend buying the flamehtrower as fast as possible. It doesnt just hit the enemy in front of you but all the others in the back aswell. IMO the best weapon in the game. U need to find coupons for this but it should come naturally when playing. Heres a list of the flamethrowers in the game

Level 5:

TOAS-T FLAMETHROWER
Nuts: 1,160
Damage/Second: 9-60
Rate of Fire: FIRE! YES!
Range: Short
Crit %: Very High
Crit Damage: 4x

Level 6
WIDE-NOZZLE TOAS-T
Nuts: 7,800
Damage/Second: 12-84
Rate of Fire: FIRE! YES!

Crit %: Very High
Crit Damage: 4x

Level 16
BERNIE THE FLAME THROWER
Nuts: 12,070
Damage/Second: 15-106
Rate of Fire: FIRE! YES!
Range: Short
Crit %: Very High
Crit Damage: 4x

Level 21
WIDE-NOZZLE BERNIE
Nuts: 18,570
Damage/Second: 19-132
Rate of Fire: FIRE! YES!

What missions do you find the coupons for those 2 weapons?

Not sure what stage but they should be on hard levels. Since the level for the weapons are 36 and 41. I also remember unlocking both weapons playing on hard. But i cant remember what map though.

Constructive..... Why do you Think it sucks ? It hits all enemies front and back. I very easily leveld up with it.

They are all short range. They are more attacking weapons. Jump around and burn enemies and not stay back and shoot. I leveld up very fast with them.

I'd use the precise typewriter (Used that from level 20 or so to level 40) then at 41 buy the precise arbor gun or something like that. They are good accurate guns and you can easily aim for what you want to shoot at, also rate of fire is nice and fast.

I like the long-range guns myself. My main problem with the flamethrower is that there are often enemies (esp those flying drones) that you have to deal with from a distance: closing the gap to use the flame thrower just isn't practical).

Reach level 50. You actually level up fairly quickly, you should be able to get this trophy soon after getting Shoot Many Robots if you didn't farm and played through the campaign. I personally got it part of the way into my hard playthrough.

There's no real XP farming so the only way to reach level 50 is to play through the game. Replaying through old levels will give less XP so keep advancing through the stages. Playing levels in Hard or Insane mode grant much more XP than playing on the Normal difficulty.

Receive after 20-30 matches, depending on the number of players.

You will need to complete most of the levels. Most likely to get it when you reach Insane Mode
