The "special enemies" referred to are bosses. You will know them because they are big, dangerous, and take a lot of firepower to kill them. Once you destroy them, you need to use your scanning beam on the data-core they drop. Do that to seven bosses and achievement unlocked.
As with the Galaxy Crusher achievement, don't warp out of an area unless you have 100% enemy destruction. If more enemies are coming, keep shooting. If you think you have finished the level, press the
button to see if the 100% enemy check box is marked.

"Special enemies" refer to the bosses in levels, simply destroy the boss, and it will sometimes drop a data chip, you will be notified on screen to scan this chip with the scanner, (equip by pressing up on the d pad) aim at the chip and aim with the right joystick to scan the chip. Do this 7 times and the achievement is yours.

you only get the bosses on the secret levels by getting 100% crystals on the main core levels not wp1 wp2. Also scanning the becon and staying in the level until you have killed the boss and scanned its becon. If hes not showing up you need to fly through a circle mission glowing thing to keep the story going
