How to unlock the Sonic Speed achievement in Shred Nebula - Definitive Guide

Welcome first thing I need mention is this achievement is glitchy it must done in one sitting you can't quite or restart a level otherwise it won't unlock I wasted 2 playthrough to just find this out, anyway this is not hard as it sounds I will gave you some tips to help you out.

# First and important thing is upgrade your weapon and keep it upgraded as much as possible and when your weapon is max don't collect any more weapon upgrades just leave them there in case if you died you can upgrade again by using them, the overdrive upgrade (it looks like the weapon upgrade but it's green instead of blue) is very helpful to get rid of big weaves of enemies so use them in necessary only or if you get one by accident go and explore the map to trigger the enemies to spawn and destroy them.

# Second thing keep collecting the hyper drive boosters this is very important to fill your hyper meter fast, another thing if there is a beacon that need to be scan don't scan it until you have 100% hyper meter so you can escape immediately after the scan and before enemies spawn.

# Third thing don't collect 100℅ crystals or destroyable objects we don't want to open any secret levels in our speed run, on some levels it easier to leave one enemy alive if you know that a big wave will spawn if you killed him just keep collecting hyper boosters and when you have 100% meter use your speed by pressing cn_Y and try go behind an obstacle and escape, or in later levels with teleport gates you can use those to escape from enemies and hyper drive immediately after you teleport .

# Final thing is how to beat the last level faster, the optica is a dangerous boss with a deadly damage you will die several time if you don't know how to fight it exactly, you need shoot him in his eye and you can only do that by shooting him and going reverse, i found a glitch or a trick to beat him easily but you need to be good on controlling your ship, ok you must fight him horizontally and keep him at the edge of the screen by doing this he won't shoot on you only if get close to you so just keep your distance by going on reverse and he will die in 1 min or less, for the clones ships all kinds use your top special weapon the same weapon that you are using to scan to kill them fast this the most effective way to get rid of those things, when you reach the last part when you're fighting 2 optica at the same time first thing drive away from the optica bosses and get rid of those clones first after that make those optica goes horizontally for you and use the trick from before but be careful because you are fighting 2 at the same time so keep your eye on the mini map, here is a picture show how to use the horizontal trick

Just wanted to add some of my opinions to the other solutions... This really is very, very easy and I just did it on my first attempt with 25 minutes to spare. I had only done the game once through previously, and I certainly didn't remember any map layouts or anything. You just need to keep the following in mind:

- Every level has the same objective! Find the turquoise icons on your radar, to boost up your hyperdrive so you can jump the hypergate and get out of there. Some levels require you to scan a beacon first, and if it does, there will be an icon showing the beacon as you start the level. If there is no beacon, there will be an icon showing your hyperdrive bar like "0 -> 100," meaning all you have to do is fill your hyperdrive bar.
- The hyperdrive bar fills automatically! Once every few seconds, you get +1% added. The only way to speed up filling the hyperdrive is by finding the turquoise icons on your radar. The only other colors worth caring about are green (life) and blue (weapon powerup).
- As soon as you hit 100% hyperdrive, hit RT to see if you can boost out of there (you'll see the ripples in space as the hypergate forms).
- You can skip almost all bosses and additional enemies the dialogue may tell you about, as long as you have 100% hyperdrive. Just use the above trick to check if you can leave ASAP.
- Do not grab all crystals! Avoid some at all costs; you don't want to accidently reach a secret level (which you unlock by getting 100% kills/crystals/destructables).
- Kill enemies as you go, trying to kill all of them. You don't need to in order to complete the mission, technically, but speeding through the hypergate takes a few seconds and if they hit you, the timer resets.
- Boost as much as possible (Y), of course.
- Dying and continuing doesn't matter and it doesn't slow you down, per se, but losing your weapon powerups does, of course, slow you down considerably. Try to stay alive and amass those weapon powerups, as it's easier to hurry if you're alive and have maxed-out weapons. If you see an overdrive pick-up (a ball that's turquoise on your screen but blue on your radar), get it immediately and switch your focus towards killing enemies to clear space for your hypergate jump at the end.
- On the final level, just smash your head against the wall, basically, by throwing yourself at the boss(es) while shooting him in the "face." Empty your special gun as much as possible, then wail on him with your regular shots. Repeat for all 5-6 bosses. It'll give you a pathetic score, but it's definitely the fastest way to do it. (Unless you get there with overdrive, in which case it's a good idea to keep it active and stay alive.)

I had an average level time of about 3 minutes, but I noted down my exact times in case it helps anyone:

I want to add to this cause i just did it and well it is hard on the last level. First off get all the blue crystals (green on map) and kill everything you can to boost your warp meter to 100%. Once you have this warp asap. The main core levels require you to scan the becon warp pole then warp when its 100%. You might need to fly through mission circles (glowing) to activate enemies and stuff.

The 2nd last level kill the blue switch then head bottom left area and get the rest of the colours in there to get to the becon.

Last boss(es) will be 6 and the trick is use Left on dpad weapon and LB to fly backwards diagonally so the eyeboss is top left or right or bottom corners and shoot so he can be shot but cant hit you. Its easy but takes patience. Once you kill the final double eyes at once and warp and the game hits the credits acheivement will pop. Mash button to pass dialogue in game too and use y to fly faster.

This will be a separate playthrough than the one you do for "Galaxy Crusher", "Raider", "Destroyer of All", or the other completionist achievements. You have to race through all the levels. As soon as you scan the beacons, press and get out of the level. Time is a bigger enemy than the spacecraft you encounter. By not getting 100% completion in levels, you should be able to skip the bonus levels, which will make it slightly easier.

The achievement isn't as hard as it sounds. When going for this one, just fly through the level and scan what you're required to scan (the beacon), and do what you are required to do, then leave the level once prompted to do so. Don't worry about getting 100% collections, you're objective is to get out of the level and onto the next as fast as possible. Some tips, are to CONSTANTLY use your boosts by holding Y (your boost meter is on the top right of the screen), since you are not getting 100% in the levels the secret levels will stay hidden which will save you some good time, so beat this in 1 hour and 20 minutes or less and voila, achievement yours.
