How to unlock the Buddy Shred achievement in Shredders - Definitive Guide

You may need to be someone’s Xbox friend to join their private session. I found someone in “Looking for group”, but I couldn’t join their game until I had added them as a friend.

Just a note for people playing with each other on different consoles. If you’re using an Xbox One you will be unable to join your friend’s game on Series X.

However, it works vice versa just fine.

So your friend on Series X will be able to join your game on Xbox One.

All you have to do is pause the game, press LB or RB to get across to the Multiplayer settings and there’s an option to change it to a private session.

Once you’ve done that, send your friend an invite and as soon as they join the session, achievement unlocked.

Did this today with partner using cloud gaming and me on my Series S. No issues. Of note, I invited the cloud account, not the other way.

Just a heads up - Me and another are both using cloud gaming (Xbox One) and it seems you cannot join a private lobby and get the achievement this way.
