How to unlock the Hidden Dragon achievement in Sifu - Definitive Guide

Dragon Arenas are unlocked automatically once you have obtained 100 Tiger Stamps. In total: there are 45 arenas that you will need to get at LEAST 1 stamp in for this achievement to unlock. As many online have said: these are all pretty tough and really force you to comprehend the mechanics of the game in order to be successful, although I will say for the most part the difficulty is kinda overstated with the exception of a few pockets that will make you want to slam that fancy xbox controller of yours into the wallangry

You will fail and sometimes you will fail HARD but keep at it! Some of the maps seem impossible but this achievement is really a testament to your problem solving ability; recognize that you will likely be playing very differently depending on the objective of the arena.

Starting with general tips:

Now about combo moves:

Top 3 Hardest Arenas for me were, in order:

Videos that Helped Me:
Facing Liming Hui Cheese (All Credit to Exvaris for video/method): helpful for teaching effective moves against each boss.
I should note that for Kuroki Phase 1: I instead reverted to baiting her side slash running volley and then parrying to bring down her structure and build focus instead of the method shown here. Also for Yang phase 2: I had a hard time getting the infinite combo rhythm right which resulted in him parrying and punishing me so I ended up just hugging the wall and baiting his jump kick which is easy to dodge and very similar to the one Fajar does in phase one. Both of these methods will obviously be slower than the ones in the video but I found them to be much safer.

All Gold Dragon Stamps (All Credit to Djisso for video/methods) taught me what the focus should be on maps that I was really struggling to get a stamp in).

Solid guide for people who are looking to just get by with the Dragon Arenas. I did write up some recommendations with Alternative ending & Facing Liming Hui about a year ago when I obtained this achievement myself which I’ll repost below, in case if anyone is interested in obtaining this achievement with minimal/no cheese. I was thinking of repurposing that into a guide, but frankly having it under a comment for someone else’s guide imo is better. Fwiw, the two aforementioned challenges are the hardest of the Dragon Arena challenges by far; if you can beat those two cleanly the rest are a joke by comparison.

Alternative ending is a bitch at the start. Without exception, always focus down Jinfeng, lest you either get her doing an attack that is so quick it is nigh on unavoidable unless if you know she’s about to use it while you’re attacking Kuroki, and have her be a pest while you take out a boss that is fairly easy to predict once you know what to look for. [Checking this tutorial is pretty handy for that; I don’t think her first phase changes on Master at all compared to Disciple.] Focus on this phase should only be spent using Strong Sweep on Kuroki so that you don’t have to worry about both keeping Kuroki in the camera (which is absolutely essential) and focusing on what she’s about to do. Once Jinfeng’s dead just use Eye Strike to kill Kuroki quickly; time is irrelevant for this challenge (got it done almost twice as fast as the one-stamp target) but the quicker the bosses are dead, the better. Try to keep most of your health in this wave.
Wave 2 is really just a matter of being able to react to Yang’s attacks (minus his mixups, just parry them instead). If you can do that well he won’t be around for long.
Wave 3 mainly comes down to pulling Sean away from Fajar, getting what damage you can, pull back, and repeat. Keep all your Focus while you’re doing so so Fajar won’t be able to put up much resistance in the midst of your Eye Strike spam.
Facing Liming Hui… oh boy. I’m going to be blunt, I can’t provide much help on this one, you really have to practice each and every boss if you want to get this done, even for one stamp (and for context, I only got one stamp - killed Yang on my last life - and I have the skill to get 353 of the 360 Arenas stamps, so if you only elected to go for 240 you’re probably gonna be here a while). I will try to provide some tips however.
* With Fajar, get used to one of his mixup options and drill the start of its animation into your head. If you see Fajar do said option, punish. If you don’t, just parry. I also want to note with Fajar, he has ZERO attacks where parrying allows you a free punish, so you must get Avoids in to kill him unless if you want to do parry only for some reason.
* With Sean, be wary of his attack speed in phase two. It can get really fast at times and catch you off-guard, possibly killing you.
* With Kuroki, keep an eye out for a specific attack in phase two that she sometimes pulls during her melee combo. It’s basically the jump from Disciple that you do a low Avoid on to punish, except it’s MUCH faster and does gigantic health damage. Focus on that over the sweep that she also does from time to time, you’ll thank me later.
* With Jinfeng, be patient and observing. She can punish you really bad if you fuck up a parry or Avoid (one time she did a 0-to-death on me) so make sure you’re confident with what she’s going to pull every time, including the overhead strike that should be treated with a low Avoid.
* With Yang, get to him with at least half of your 11 lives left. Trust me, you’ll need them. Otherwise, only thing I can really offer for that fight is good luck.

After you get 100 seals in the tiger arena, the dragon arena will be available.

1) Si-Fu of the Earth - I advise you to quickly remove the old man at the beginning, so from the start you should block/dodge to accumulate concentration to the maximum, then take a knife from the wall and cut the grandfather’s leg, and then beat him. And so 3 times in a row, most likely he will survive, but the job is almost done.

2) 25 waves are long and tiring, try to ensure that you have 3 concentration bars for the bosses, this will allow you to fly through them without much loss. Yan is invulnerable to the stripe, so there is no point in saving up for it; it is better to spend it on fat mobs in front of him.

3) Alternative ending - in the first wave, I advise you to distract the girl and beat the grandmother, otherwise she will get you with her long-range attacks. Yan, everything is as usual here, I recommend that after a successful parry you hold down the triangle (drop it on the floor and hit it in the face with your fist), this can be done 3 times, then the boss counters. In the 3rd wave, we constantly drop the guy with the stick with our concentration, and while he is resting, we beat the second boss.

4) Victory over Li Min Hui - the difficulty here is Master, so in addition to increased activity, the bosses also have new blows + they added a sweep to everyone (and the grandma, on the contrary, has an extra blow). All bosses now have a 50/50 combo split.

a) 1st boss - I recommend going through the first stage without wasting concentration, leaving it for the second, with a knife it hits harder and is less open to attack. Combat tactics: dodge, strike, push, sweep in pursuit, finishing with fists. Dying 1-2 times is normal, 4 or more is better than a restart.

b) 2nd is the easiest, there will already be one test with it on the “Master”, get used to it already. The only boss who can be punished for everything. The tactics are the same. I recommend going to the 3rd boss with three concentration bars; spend it only at the beginning. I don't recommend dying more than once.

c) 3rd - at the beginning we hit with concentration 3 times in a row. Then keep your distance so that you have time to understand what kind of combo it is, it has a couple of easy ones for dodging, and there are muddy ones, move away from them with jerks. The tactics are the same.

At the second stage, everything is different, here I tried to catch all her daggers, threw them back, if you are not confident in dexterity, then it is better to dodge them. When the boss runs at you to hit a combo, then 2 meters away you start yours (I held square, I got a dash towards the boss, which did not allow her to start an attack). Usually she runs 2 times in a row and then jumps with daggers, but sometimes the boss is stupid and runs after you many times, which is good. Of course, you can try to dodge combos and punish as usual, but this is more difficult. Dying 1-2 times is normal. It’s better to also go to the next boss with a couple of concentration bars.

d) 4th - the damage is high, it strikes often, there are forks in the combo and you constantly need to get to her, as she runs away, especially the first stage is unpleasant, since there was no place for punishment through dodging at all. I recommend hitting with conversion from the start, and then pressing on. The main thing is patience, we dodged, ran, once with a running fist or a sweep, and then dodged again.

In the second stage, everything is the same, only the boss is more willing to engage in close combat, a new combo of 3 hits appears, after which you can dodge and respond with your own combo (standard with a sweep in pursuit). We spend all our concentration.

e) 5th - if you came here and you are 41 or younger, then the chances are normal. If 48 or more, then... The first stage is worse than the second, the boss has few attacks to dodge, in fact, I beat him only after dodging his hook (which comes from a distance), and tried to parry the rest in order to break his structure . +After a successful parry, which I got here less often than usual, apparently due to difficulty, I also held down triangle, but the boss didn’t give in, although in the video people do this and everything works, I don’t know what the problem is, but if you Also, this proven punishment will not work, then just hit him. Well, the boss usually doesn’t allow you to do a “push” grab either, so it’s always better to just hit back. In general, the main thing is to survive to the second stage.

The second stage, the boss has a couple of super attacks active, you can already dodge them and hit back. But of course it’s not easy... And the essence is the same, to break the structure, in general, if you come before the age of 40, then the chances of passing are high, although there were times when I lost my life to the boss without really having time to do anything...

However, there is one feature that greatly helped me get through the second stage with almost no loss of HP. Stay a few meters away from the boss and always be near the wall. Then the boss will constantly jump on you from the wall (this jump is also like a current from the second stage, in the first Yan did not do this, or very rarely). It is always easy to avoid a jump by dodging downwards, after which you can safely hit back. In essence, this is how we pass, he jumps, and we punish. Sometimes the boss will try to do something: if there are regular combos, then it is better to break the distance with jerks, and if he charges his super blow from far away, then of course you need to dodge and punish (well, or block, if dodges are not possible). But basically the boss will just jump, so if you are under 75 years old here, then most likely you should definitely pass this way, I lost 1/3 of my HP and killed the boss.
