How to unlock the Second Best achievement in Silent Hill 2 HD - Definitive Guide

(Missable) This is one of six possible endings and one of three of the regular endings in the game. To earn this trophy you will need to finish the game while playing in a specific fashion.

Try to return to Maria's body in the Labyrinth.
Stay close and protect Maria from harm.
Revisit Maria in the hospital room.

Do not go back to Nathan Ave. after the bowling alley.
Do not look at Mary's letter or picture.

To get this ending you need:

1) Do not examine Angela's knife, Mary's photo, or read the letter from Mary.
2) When you meet Maria, take care of her and protect her from monsters. (it’s important that if someone hits you, we immediately load the latest save).
3) Visit her in the hospital room and in the prison cell.
4) Before the last fight in the corridor, do not stop and listen to Mary's monologue to the end.

Conditions for receiving:
1. Do not allow monsters to attack Maria (the most important condition)
2. Do not read the diary on the roof of the hospital and do not examine Angela's knife.
3. Do not go to Neely's Bar as an alternative.
4. Constantly undergoing treatment.
5. Go and see Maria in the ward.
