All you have to do is play the lottery after you complete the tutorial. You can play it once a day, but you only need to play it once.

Give me some feedback if anyone has problems.

You can play the lottery many times if you change the date on your PC settings.

You can get for health potions , expensive ammos, moderate equipment , and even some Sheriff Stars if you are lucky enough.

For some reason this achievement will not unlock for me. I may end up having to reset my game. :/

I'm the same - I played the game on WP first, got the achievement and then started Win8 version... I think I might have to start again & use a "local save" rather than "cloud save"

This achievement requires that you play the Lottery for the first time. The Lottery can be accessed from the Main Menu, the Pause Menu, or by going to the actual Lottery machines in single-player (one in both Oregon and Arizona). The Lottery can be played once every 24 real-world hours for free. It consists of you shooting one of nine doors to win the random prize located behind that door. You will want to be playing the Lottery daily to get some free ammo or health potions, decent weapons, and clothing. This achievement will unlock after you play the Lottery the first time.
