How to unlock the Online Legend achievement in Skate 2 - Definitive Guide

To get legend status you must get:

5 Bronzes
3 Silvers
1 Gold
5000 total exp

S.K.A.T.E is a good mode to get this in as you get 30 exp for winning. This is made easier by the fact that alot of people will be not doing anything. (As you still get exp in S.K.A.T.E if you don't do anything the whole game.)

EDIT: Apparently S.K.A.T.E exploit has been fixed. No trick to this one now, just play alot.

They supposedly fixed the S.K.A.T.E. glitch that let you sit in a game and still get points.

They also fixed the superdude glitch on the Hall of Meat, though there is another glitch running around that hasnt been fixed.

You can circumvent the glitch fix in S.K.A.T.E. by using a turbo controller and setting it to do a boneless or something like that... or you could play a lot and earn it.

Does S.K.A.T.E only go through one session before rewarding XP, or does it do several rounds like best trick which does 3 rounds before rewarding XP?

I'm very good at best trick, but 3 rounds takes up to 7 or 8 minutes for a complete cycle (for 27/21 XP). S.K.A.T.E would theoretically be much quicker if there are only 2 players and it's only 1 round, surely no more than a few minutes. Anyone know?

S.K.A.T.E. is just the one round, yes. Depending how many people are playing it can either be very quick or very long and drawn out. However the xp is pretty good so if you're not great at the game like me then this is a reasonable way of ranking up. Very grindy though...

Just got off the phone with EA and they told me Skate 2 is now a "Legacy" game which means they no longer give any support to it so I don't think we'll be getting medals and rankings back. Looks as if this achievement is now discontinued. I tried contacting the last 2 people that unlocked this but no response.

5000exp total. You can get it by getting gold in 5 different events, or 5000 exp in one event (hall of meat for example).

It doesn't matter as long as you get 5000 exp, then you'll have the achievement. My personal favorite was the spot battle mostly because it's not that popular and you don't need to be that good to get 1-3 place. First place gets you 27pts, second 21pts, and third is 16pts. Just remember to score at least once as you don't get any experience if you fail to get on the score board. Something as easy as an ollie gets you points.

I've discovered a way of boosting this while AFK (AFC?) it does require a turbo controller though. What you want to do is go into a Jam game and set the X and A buttons to turbo, if you keep these buttons held down what will happen is you will be doing constant hippy jumps. Jam has three rounds, the only round you're guaranteed to get points in is the regular round, but there's one of those every game so it's all good.

I did this for around 5 hours and gained 600 exp so it's a really good way of ranking up.

You get 27 points for a win in Jam and 21 points for coming second.

Having invested a few hours into getting this achievement, I thought I'd share some of my tips.

If you are boosting this with one other person then play Hall of Meat. Have the person winning the match set a big score in Round 1. For the rest of the match bail right at the start with LT, RT, Left analog stick and Right analog stick. Each game lasts about one minute and you get 21xp for winning and 16xp for finishing second. In one hour of boosting without any randoms, you can get ~400xp.

If you are boosting this with three or more people then play Jam. This is a good mode to boost since randoms tend to avoid this playlist. In this game mode there are 2/3 rounds, each of which last for two minutes. The way to boost this game mode is for each player to score the exact same score in every round. If done correctly, each player will earn 27xp per match. You must score points in each round, otherwise you'll earn 0xp at the end of the game.

Avoid the S.K.A.T.E. game mode at all costs. Randoms love this playlist and are generally very good at it. I played a game where myself and one random player were in a 10 minute game, all for a mere 30xp. I'd strongly consider leaving this mode out of the equation.

I earned this achievement both from boosting and playing normally. Whenever I played normally, I preferred the Spot Battle game mode. Matches are usually very short and the xp values are decent enough.

Here are my online stats for this achievement:

Spot Battle: 699
Best Trick: 102
Jam: 517
S.K.A.T.E.: 235
Deathrace: 172
Hall of Meat: 3,289

Total: 5,014

Please comment if you vote negatively. I will edit my solution to make it better.

The achievements bug on me... I'm still investigating why it happen...

1st I got mylast XP on a S.K.A.T.E. match where the person I was with left before the end.

2nd I made my first 3000XP with the DLC, delete those for the co-op and complete my last 2000 XP

I'm at 5100 XP now and no achievement. I will redownload the DLC and write update if I did get my achievement

To get legend status you must get:

5 Bronzes
3 Silvers
1 Gold
5000 total exp
this is explained in the solution by The Drumber 1

there is technicaly no way to boost this but if you go into best trick with you and 2 other people (3 people total) and you can get your points to tie (so you all get 3) then you each get 27xp
to tie the points:
there is 3 events and each player must come in each position once
Player 1 comes in 1st 2nd then 3rd
Player 2 comes in 2nd 3rd then 1st
Player 3 comes in 3rd 1st then 2nd
this should tie you all on 3 points
2 poins for 1st
1 point for 2nd
and 0 points for 3rd
then you must grind and repeat this allot (helps to do with buddies instead of randoms) untill you get the 5000xp
if you get randoms in your game try playing to win so it then turns into a legit game. if you win the random enough he will quit out hopefully.

HINT go for the other badges first and leave yourself needing 1 of each (because you will gain it on best trick) so you dont need to play more than needed.

PS: the servers are horrific

This is a very time consuming achievement. In order to do this, you need to first get 1 gold medal, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals to get to icon rating. Just choose the events you are best at and go for the gold medals in those. After you achieve icon rank, you will need to get up to a total of 5,000 xp in order to get online legend. It took me 3 days of heavy xp grinding in jam to get this. The best advice I can give is patience, dedication and most important of all; play the game mode you are best at!

Could do, although I have heard from a friend that tried it and couldn't get the first rank achievement to pop, so I'm not too optimistic

I tried this for months at the end of last year and beginning of this year, since the medals are not registering as unlocked, the game doesn't recognize that you've achieved a certain rank.
The only thing we can hope for now is that there is a server shutdown announced and enough people bring it to EA's attention for them to fix the connection to the server issue.

Ah, yeah that's a shame, as I expected then. Thanks for the info, I'll put in a sentence on that
Yeah that would be great. It is possible to get EA to fix these sort of things, as I know from the old FIFA 12 days, but it takes a huge effort and lots of contacts to get things done

Or maybe medal tracking works now but we just can't see it

I doubt we can't see it, I have over 8k xp in hall of meat and all the medals required and still the achievement hasn't popped.

I've just had a thought CHRISTIAMUZ, what if the medal tracking is back, but exp tracking is not? That would make the other rank achievements obtainable, but would leave this one discontinued...

So the achievement was not unlocking, out of the blue I decided to play an unranked match in a desperate attempt to get this achievement to work. After joining an unranked lobby and playing a match of spot session the achievement unlocked!

The online servers are working again, for now...

For this achievement there are 6 ranked game types. You'll need to get one up to gold (1000xp), 2 additional ones to silver (500xp), and 2 more to bronze (100xp). You can totally ignore one of the types if you'd like. If you make those targets exactly, you will have 2200xp. You'll need to earn another 2800xp to hit the 5000 total experience which is the final requirement.

This can be done in about 10 hours total time (most of which you can/will be idling, especially if you have a turbo controller.

Ignoring loading time and lobby wait time, which is the same for all the events this is my recommendation on which you want to go for bronze/silver/gold in. You need to score at least 1 point in order to get XP in a match.

Hall of meat is the fastest, I would recommend doing gold in this one, as well as the bulk of your extra points to hit 5k. There are 3 rounds, and they end when you bail. And as long as you have a turbo controller which is capable you can just set it to turbo LS/RS/LT and RT and go and as long as you have two people in the lobby you will be getting 21 or 16 for 1st or 2nd respectively, every 3 minutes or so.

2nd best is jam. The rounds are longer (so about 6 min between matches), but turboable, you just need to turbo A+X and you will get 27/21 for 1st/2nd.

Spot Battle is definitely worth going for silver in, probably 3rd best, (or maybe even the best if you are playing more actively rather than idling). It's 27/21 pts for 1st/2nd, and the rounds can be ended immediately by bailing. So you just need to score during one round to get some xp.

S.K.A.T.E. can be fairly fast, just do a trick with whoever is getting XP (I'm not sure what the criteria are to actually get points for 2nd place, etc. Maybe make sure each person has at least one letter?) But It's 30/23 pts for 1st/2nd. It does require more active play than the other game types. You'll need to set five different flip tricks with the winning player, and then have the loser(s) go over the scoring area without tricking. The tricks can be very simple, e.g. your five could be ollie, nollie, 180 ollie, 180 nollie, and kickflip.

Best trick is slow, and not turboable, but you only need to do one trick each in the first round, and then wait 6-7 minutes for the three rounds to end.

I'd skip races entirely, but it's up to you.

Best way to do this, if your not so hot at getting good points, is Hall of Meat. I had 2 golds(spot battle/best trick) and all the rest of my xp in HoM. The best part about HoM is once you play a little while, you will learn the bail paths for each spot. Then its just how much time you put in. Also I got this way back when Krazy Legs still existed, so it should be a piece of cake now.

to achieve the legend rank you need to get,
5 bronze, 3 silver, and 1 gold and 5000 exp

it is a time consuming achievement, but how i did it and to me seems to be the fastest way was to, go through the list from top to bottom, so get gold on everything i got gold on everything except deathrace, and i could get about 1000 xp a day from playing 1 event all day, so just go from top to bottom getting gold on all things and u should get the achievement within a few days, hope i could help

To obtain each badge you need 100 exp for a Bronze, 500 Exp for a Silver and 1000 exp for a Gold.

Amateur Rank - 1 Bronze
Play online until you rank up to a bronze, Jam, S.k.A.T.E & Spot Battle net you the most points. S.K.A.T.E is the most time consuming but will give you a fair amount of points if you loose.

Pro Rank - 3 Bronze, 1 Silver
Find a game mode you enjoy and just keep playing until you gain Silver and play two other game types until you gain two extra Bronze badges.

Icon Rank - 5 Bronze, 3 Silver, 1 Gold
Same as the others just find a game mode your most comfortable with to claim your gold badge then play 2 other game modes to gain your Bronze badges.

Legend Rank - 5 Bronze, 3 Silver, 1 Gold & 5000 EXP
Once you obtain Icon rank, simply gain enough exp to reach 5000 total exp, this includes exp earned in previous ranks.

This achievement is still active as of July 2016

Online profile isn't viewable but you still gain xp, its just guessing when it will unlock the achievement

Play in online matches with rating enabled until your level increases and you receive a badge, there are a total of six badges of each type in the game: bronze, silver and gold.
To get a bronze badge you need to gain 100 experience.
To receive a silver badge, you need to gain 500 experience.
To receive a gold patch, you need to gain 1000 experience.
To obtain the “Legend” rank, you need to receive 5 bronze, 3 silver and one gold patches and five thousand experience, including the experience gained for previous ranks. Experience is added even if you already have a gold badge for a given online event.
