How to unlock the Battle Royale achievement in Skull and Bones - Definitive Guide

The Open Sea region is the almost island-less area that goes from the North-West of the map to the South East and represents the sea between the coasts of Africa and the Asia (excluding the Red Isle which is home to Sainte-Anne).

Defeating the 5 ships is self-explanatory, you need to defeat any ships in the Open-Sea the moment you leave the open sea area, it seems the counter is reset, so make sure you stock up on repair kits, ammo and some grilled food to keep up your crew's stamina.

Most ships in these areas are level 8 to 10, so while you might want to tackle this achievement early on, or while traveling East on your explorations, I recommend waiting until you have a level 8 ship.

extra tip, while sailing the open-sea, you often sail through storms. Meaning you'll likely have to deal with a "rogue wave". Take these head-on with full health so you may also unlock "I can see my house from hear" achievement

Edit: Sir Lumbo in the comments states you can die in between taking out ships as long as you select "respawn at sea" the counter does not seem to reset

You can die and 'respawn at sea' without it resetting progress.

The Open Seas region is the chunk of water right in the middle of the map, between the East Indies and the African Cost:

What you need to do, to unlock this trophy, is to sink 5 ships in this region without leaving. That isn’t really very difficult, partly because the area is huge, giving you lots of space to retreat and plan your next move, and to hunt around for your next target. It's a good idea to try and unlock this achievement after you have had a chance to upgrade your ship a little for combat. Check out our guide on How to equip your ship with armour. It’s also a good idea to have enough wood and / or repair kits on you to make your combat durability that much better – as there is nowhere to stop and rest while going after this one. Once you have sunk five ships, this achievement will unlock.
