How to unlock the Not Today achievement in Skull and Bones - Definitive Guide

This is one of these achievements that you may well accidentally unlock by virtue of just being in a closely fought battle. On the other hand, if you haven’t unlocked it, then you can sneakily get it done by firing on an enemy ship until its health is very low, then delaying the finishing blow and letting that ship chip away at your health until you are at 5% HP. Then, when you sink them, this achievement will unlock. This achievement is more easily unlocked against the computer than it is against another player, who will be better.

I never had this happen naturally, so I came up with the following method:
Take the dhow fishing ship out into the area around Sainte Anne, preferably with no cargo. This is the level 1 ship that only shoots spears. In this area you can always find level level 1 and 2 ships just to the northwest and southwest. Find one that is not too close to a tower, if possible. Attack it with your spears until it's very low health, wait for it to hurt you to 5%, then finish it off. This can still be tough because reinforcements might show up, you might get lured near a tower, and you might just not hit the sweet spot where you're at 5% health. Even so, the reason I liked this method is that it's very easy to try again if you fail, with no risk. The ship only costs 5 silver to repair if you mess up and die, and even if you sink a ship, the game respawns new ones constantly. Just respawn back at the dock if you do die, rather than in the ocean, so you can repair.

You'll actually get this playing regularly. I was just doing main quests and tower was hitting my level 4 ship to point of no health and I rammed a smaller shop to destroy it and achievement popped
