How to unlock the Online Multi-Slayer achievement in Skulls of the Shogun - Definitive Guide
If you're looking to boost it, however, this CAN be boosted with a single boosting partner. No need for 3 other players. I earned it (non-boosted) by setting up a Player Match (pretty sure it needs to be player match as I dont think there can be AI armies in ranked), Team Deathmatch, 4 armies. One other player joined, and I chose team 1, he chose team 2. I started the game, the game started with 4 armies, and we each had AI teammates. I won the match and got the achievement for a winning a 4 player match, despite the fact I was only playing against one other human opponent.
So to boost it, set up the game as I outlined, then the losing player can just skip their turns and/or put their units in harms way. The AI teammate will still be fighting, but the match wil essentially be 2 against 1, so therefore an easy win. Much easier than co-ordinating with 3 boosting partners.
You can also make and then break a deadly alliance while playing Deathmatch.
We played on Murky Mire and just lined generals up close to the water's edge and knocked them off. Took about five minutes to get this achievement done for both players. You can make and break deadly alliances in this match as well, for the other achievement.
This can be unlocked with two human players and two AI players. Create a Team Deathmatch game with one human on each side. For the person earning the achievement, you can let your AI partner do much of the heavy lifting while you simply support him and play defense if you get attacked by the enemy AI. The human player losing simply needs to pass every turn, or can actively obstruct his partner by haunting shrines and rice patties but never attacking. If your AI partner survives, you will also unlock "Team Player" if you have not done so already.
If you do this in a Skulls Anywhere game mode (as opposed to Skulls Online on the XBLA) you can load up the final turn on all three devices simultaneously and unlock the achievement without having to play three separate games. Note that if you let the AI take the final move and the game ends without having loaded it on the other devices, the game disappears and you will have to start a new one to unlock it on the other devices.
You do not need to survive in order to unlock this achievement. As long as your team wins, you will satisfy the conditions for the achievement regardless of the status of your general.
