How to unlock the Above the Average achievement in Sky Force Reloaded - Definitive Guide
This achievement is pretty involved, but does have a bit of a saving grace in some regards. For this achievement you need to do the following:
- Complete the 13 main levels (1 through 13) on Nightmare with all 4 Medals
- Levels B1 and B2 do not count towards it
For the most part Levels 1 through 8 weren't too terrible. They take practice, but you can learn a good way to do it all. Part of the method here is to play a level a few times and just know what comes and where. Knowing the enemy patterns and attack cycles will make it a lot easier.
When it came to Level 9 through 13, I began to prioritize one medal at a time (I did at some points for the previous levels). I found that the Octopus was the best ship for me. The pod missiles and the charge shot card really assisted for some quick and interesting results.
The last medal for me was Level 11, No Hit. Scarlett's tank is a pain, particularly Phase 2 with the giant laser turret. Your shield will get destroyed immediately by touching it so you can't just tank the turret. Here is how I eventually got through this Phase.
- Begin taking the 4 mini turrets down to roughly 30-40% health.
- Drop a mega bomb right before the turret fires and that should take out all 4 mini turrets
- Continue to sweep back and forth in mini figure 8's doing damage to the laser turret
- At 66% or thereabouts, 2 mini rail guns will pop out and each fire 6 shots
- I found the best strategy here was to actually continue to do my figure 8's the whole time. I'd pop on a shield to tank the rail guns.
- In the meantime, I'd save my lasers and megabombs for the final phase to go for a quick kill against the bullet hell section.
This seemed to work best for me. Overall, this achievement is just about slowly building to it. One medal at a time if necessary.
NOTE: Myself and others have earned all medals for the 13 levels and then not had the achievement unlock. For me, replaying Level 13 on Nightmare (not necessarily earning all 4 medals) caused me to earn the achievement afterwards. Not sure if this sufficient, but that's at least what worked for me.

I feel your pain, even for insane on Scarlett. One thing to know if you stay on the laser turret it won't hit you! Only thing to worry about is the rockets, and the shield will you protect you from them.

Interesting plan there. Hadn't considered that as a possibility. Awesome find though

I come to leave you a video to help you pass mission 8 easily.
since he is the boss that most of them have a hard time defeating at nightmare level.

This and the verbal guide above helped me to finally take her down with zero damage taken. Thanks

To achieve this achievement you need only stages from 1 to 13 on the nightmare for all medals.
If you really sweat over the “no damage” medals, take the “lame hero” + a technician with his own buffs, or a technician with luck. Yes, he is killed with one shot, but the maximum speed of the guns is from the start, and if you miss the damage, you still have to start the level over again.

If you have difficulty completing a level without damaging the plane, take the kate brush technique, with it the 1st hit does not count as damage at the end of the level
