How to unlock the Autogyro Pyrotechnician achievement in Skylanders Giants - Definitive Guide

You must destroy all of the large flying Autogyros. Small ones are not required for the achievement to pop and are only distractions. There are 4 in the first section, 4 in the second section, and 8 in the last section.

All 8 types of elemental Skylanders have a different type of ammo for shooting. I chose Tech as it shoots quite fast and has double shots. Just find an element that you are good with and you shouldn't have too many problems.

You can also use the punch, but using shockwave to destroy the autogyros has not been confirmed.

Achievement will pop as soon as the last enemy is killed.

Added info from MavericRenegade:

"If you miss one you can just get yourself killed and it'll restart from last checkpoint, I failed on the last bit, died, then restarted from checkpoint and got it."

Credit to caelich for the number of autogyros in each section. Thanks dude!

I used wind, does less damage but fires 3 shots at a time. Also right at the end one of the little ones crashed into me and i still got the achievement. I shot all the others though.

I am having the most difficult time with this. In 2 sections there is always a larger one in the background of some smaller ones, but it flies towards me as I'm still shooting the small ones and half the time I only get one(if any) shots at them and they fly over me. Does anyone have any tips?? I've used jetvac, drobot, trigger happy, whirlwind, and a couple others....

You dont need to kill the small ones at all. I had a bit of trouble with this one until I decided to ignore the little ones and only aim for the big ones. There are 4 in the first section, 4 in the second section, and 8 in the last section.

By flying Autogyros you mean the small helicopter enemies?

Yes. There are the small ones and large ones. The large Autogyros will shoot at you and some will flee from the screen. All the small ones will fly towards you for a suicidal crash.

Should be noted that if you miss one you can just get yourself killed and it'll restart from last checkpoint, I failed on the last bit, died, then restarted from checkpoint and got it.

Does the achievement unlock as soon as the last is killed or does it at the end of the checkpoint?

I killed them all before they came at me, so that's what you should aim for.

I used wind in the first two sections and fire in the third. I think most people are missing the ones that appear for a second and fly off before you even notice them. I think you should update the guide to mention that you only need the large ones and with the number of ships in each section as caelich pointed out.

Definitely just the large ones. I ignore all the smaller ones and got the achievement on my first attempt.

Please update the solution to refer to the correct information in the comments.

I went with Tech element 'Legendary Trigger Happy' for the faster fire rate. You need to kill all of the big flying autogyros they are what is counted for the achievement. Achievement pops as soon as you kill the last one.

I found a great video walkthrough for the Autogyro Pyrotechnician achievement. This guy is playing the PS3 version of the game but you'll get the Autogyro Pyrotechnician achievement after you follow this guys video walkthrough. What made this achievement easier is I used my series 1 Trigger Happy Tech Skylander from Skylanders Spyros Adventure to get all the robots because he shot in quicker bursts.

Credit goes to Jason Kitchel on YouTube. I did not make and upload this video.

In this stage you'll be walking around in a giant robot, and you'll need to destroy the large flying autogyros to get this achievement. You do not need to worry about the smaller ones. They move quickly, and it can be difficult to hit them with your shots, so it's best to tackle this once you've played the stage a few times so you know where to expect them.

You can punch or shoot the autogyros with your robot. Each Skylander element causes the robot to shoot a different type of ammo, so find one you're comfortable with. The tech element has a quick firing shot, but does less damage. The life element fires watermelons which do a lot of damage, but are slow.

There are 12 total, four in the first section, four in the second, and eight in the last. After you complete a robot section, your progress to that point is saved. If you miss an autogyro, you can reload the checkpoint to try again.

Here's a video by TikayBeatz PSN, which shows each robot section, and has a counter showing the running total:

This is one of the harder trophies on the game, you are required to destroy all of the helicopters while you are riding around on the robot. There are smaller helicopters to destroy but these do not count for the trophy so focus on the big orange ones. This will take a few tries. Most of the helicopters are going to be flying at you and are very easy to destroy but there is a helicopter right at the beginning of the level, one right after you learn how to use the robot's shockwave and one after each of the two running around sections that are tricky to hit. Learn how they move and where they are at and this trophy is yours.
