How to unlock the Completionist achievement in Skylanders Giants - Definitive Guide
This can be earned in the first level with the characters in the Starter pack. You'll need a Life character, an Air character and an Undead character. I'm sure there are other levels this can be easily done on, but I found that this was the easiest for me with the speed run. Also, since it's possible with the starter figures, it may be the easiest for you, too.
The hardest part of this achievement is the time goal. You can do all of the other parts on a separate run, so you should do one run just as a speed run. When you do this, it's important to have a Skylander that can move quickly. I used an updated Gill Grunt on level 1, but one of the other flying ones (like Jet-Vac) should work as well.
Don't do ANYTHING extra. Just run through. Better abilities often will help you go faster, like Gill's waterpack so that he can fly through the entire level. Don't kill anything unless you have to in order to open a gate. Press the Y button to skip all dialogue. (I don't know if the cutscenes count toward the timer, but I skipped them all anyway.) I didn't use Tree Rex for the Giant parts, but you can skip those too. I made it in 3:49.
Once you've finished the speed run, clean up anything you haven't already done.
*You need to kill 40 creatures (just kill everything).
*You need to find all 12 areas, including elemental areas.
*Don't die. It's an easy level, especially if you're playing on Easy. I did this on Nightmare, but I leveled all of my character's abilities on an earlier run. I didn't have level 15, but that might help, too.
*Winged Sapphire: Right at the beginning. Smash the gate from where you are. She's right there.
*Find the Soul Gem. It's in the Ancient Mines, before the other Giant tells you to jump. DON'T JUMP until you get it. You'll see it on the left. You need a Giant to move the rocks.
*Story Scroll: Just after the Giant tells you to jump. DON'T JUMP until you get it. Go down the ramp into Broken Bottom. You can see it behind the wall; smash the wall.
*Legendary Treasure: Starry Night Paint Job. When you jump down to the second bolt you have to break toward the end of the level, there's another level you can jump to immediately on the right. You can do it before or after you break the bolt.
*Luck-O-Tron Wheel: This one is hidden. After you fight the Chompy Pit, bounce up the first two pads, then head right instead of up the 3rd. Use a Giant to move the stone, and go back around into the Chompy Pit. Beat them again, then do the same thing a 3rd time. After beating the Chompies for the 3rd time, the Wheel will be through the gate on the way out.
*All hats: 3 of them.
The first is in Zucchini Grotto. You need a Life character (like Tree Rex) to get this.
The second is in Windy Work Site. You need an Air character (like Jet-Vac) to get this.
The third is in Cursed Construction. You need an Undead character (like Cynder) to get this.
*All Treasure Chests. There are 4 of them.
The first is in Turtle Falls. Move the turtle to the far side to get it.
The second is in Ancient Mines. DO NOT JUMP before you get this. Start down the ramp and use a Giant on the rock on the right.
The third is in The Hungry Depths. You *MUST* jump as a Giant to get this.
The fourth is in Windy Work Site. You must have an Air character to get this.
The areas:
*The Forgotten Path: main path
*Mountain Peak: main path
*Turtle Falls: main path
*Hungry Plateau: main path
*Ancient Mines: main path - in the first cave
*Broken Bottom: DON'T JUMP when the other Giant tells you to. Go down the path where the scroll is.
*The Hungry Depths: Once you jump down the hole. Use a Giant to jump down the left hole to get the third treasure.
*Zucchini Grotto: On the left before you leave the cave. You must use a Life character (like Tree Rex) to enter here. The first hat is here.
*Arkeyan Work Site: main path, outside the cave.
*Windy Work Site: On the left, just after you exit the cave into the Arkeyan Work Site. You need an Air character (like Jet-Vac) to get this.
*The Planks: main path
*Cursed Construction: This last area requires an Undead character (like Cynder). Once you've destroyed the first bolt, and destroyed the two enemies to open the bounce pads, BEFORE you jump up the pads toward the second bolt, head towards the screen. You'll see a couple of allies working. Go around the large block to the left and open this area. The third hat is also here.
- Change the difficulty to EASY
- Play Chapter 1 - Land of the Giants twice: once to get everything, and the second time as a speed-run
-- Watch out for two missable collectibles in chapter 1: the Winged Sapphire is hidden under a giant's bolder right at the beginning; and the Luck-o-tron-wheel is acquired by re-fighting the Chompies twice, in the Chompy-pit.
- On your second play, ignore all combat - aside from gates - and collectibles and you'll easily beat the target time.
You can earn three stars on each chapter in the game. One star can be earned each for completing all the story objectives, one for finding all the treasure, and one for what the game calls "dares" (playing quickly, beating lots of enemies, not dying, etc.). You do not need to earn all three stars in one run of a stage. In fact, you will need two runs at a minimum, as finding all the treasures will likely cause you to go over your time goal.
The best stage to earn this is on Chapter 1, as it is short and easy. Here are the requirements:
Objectives:
Meet Norticus
Free the Mabu slaves
Dares:
Cleared in Under 04:20
Enemy Goal - 40
All Areas Found - 12
No Lives Lost
Collections:
Soul Gem Found
Legendary Treasure Found
All Hats Found - 3
All Treasure Chests Found - 4
Story Scroll Found
Winged Sapphire Found
Luck-O-Tron Wheel Found

This is easily done on the first chapter of the game. Load up the first Chapter from chapter select and pause the game when the level loads. From the Pause menu go to Objectives, You can now view the list of objectives for this level, you will need to complete them all in order to get this trophy. You are not required to get them all in a single playthrough of the chapter, you can try if you want to, but it is easier if you get all of the collectible objectives done and then replay the level for the speed run. If you are having troubles finding any of the collectibles, OldSkoolGamer has a great written guide here.
