How to unlock the Freebot Isn't Free achievement in Skylanders Giants - Definitive Guide

The trick is finding Freebot, defeating him is rather easy.
He is found on a lower platform after walking into the area where Earth Skylanders are more effective. All you need to do is drop off the platform towards the bottom of the screen as shown in the screenshot below.

As for defeating him he runs with a deck with 1 Chompy and 4 Jawbreakers, it is very simple as are most Skystone duals and you should be able to beat him with little to no trouble.

An addition to Kennansoft's solution:

You don't need to beat him even. Just buy a 500-gold-cost 'Skystones Cheat' from the shopkeeper on your ship. When Freebot asks you to play Skystones, say NO. It'll ask if you want to use a Skystones Cheat. Say YES. The achievement will then pop, and you'll get the skystone prize from him.

Freebot is located not too far into the stage. Just after the first gate, there will be two spike traps on the floor. Face the screen and drop down between them. You'll land on a ledge with a wall your Giant Skylander can smash. Freebot is behind this wall. Challenge him to a game of Skystones and win, and this achievement is yours.

Freebot is hiding towards the beginning of the chapter on a lower platform between the first spike traps, jump off the side of the map towards the screen. You will now be by a wall in the side of the cliff, destroy it with your Giant Skylander to find Freebot. Defeat him in Skystones and the trophy will unlock.
