How to unlock the Ascend 0 achievement in Slay The Spire - Definitive Guide

You unlock Ascension mode after completing a basic run through Act 3 with any character,

From the Slay the Spire Wiki:
Ascension is a game mode that adds new challenge modifiers to runs for added difficulty.

In order to unlock Ascension 1 for one character, you need to beat all three acts with that character.

Winning a run in each Ascension will unlock the next Ascension for that character only.

Losing a run will NOT reset any progress or decrease your Ascension number. Losing a run in Act 4 will still unlock the next Ascension.

You may play any Ascension level you have unlocked.

All Ascension levels can be played in Custom Mode, but completing them there will not count for your progress in the game.

The negative effects from each Ascension level are cumulative. For example: If you are on Ascension 3, the disadvantages of Ascension 1 and 2 will be in effect as well.

I unlocked this without a full winning run. Once I unlocked custom games I created a game with all of the most instant win options. I beat a run with these custom settings and then when I returned to the menu and did a normal run, ascend mode was unlocked and I got the achievement. While you can't earn achievements in custom, you still get unlocks.

What are those "instant win options"?

I'd also like to know about the instant win options!

It's weird because I absolutely edited this earlier and included EVERYTHING I used in a custom run I then went on to run but I guess I didn't actually save it? Weird. Allow me to fix that soon. You have some good ones there, but it doesn't even scratch the surface. There is one for gaining a card means adding two copies. So if you get the card that does damage for every card in your draw pile along with the modifiers to increase your deck size off the top, you are unstoppable.

No worries @Zalsha. Would love to hear your additions. I ended up getting it with your solution! Now I'm trying to get all the unlocks using custom mode.

Alright, I will fix up the solution next time I boot up the game, but it's the things like every rare card and 5 of the same card. I ended up with 5 of the Deal Damage for every card in the draw pile and I ran through every enemy without any issue. There is still a random chance there, it's why I said the most instant win options, but I admit I might need to rework how I worded it.

These are the two you mentioned:

[Shiny] Starting deck is replaced with 1 of every rare card.
[Specialized] Start with 5 copies of a single card.

After researching online others that seem beneficial are:
[Vintage] Normal enemies drop relics instead of cards.
[Inception] Replaces your starting relic with Unceasing Top. (Draw 1 card when hand empty)
[Heirloom] Start with 1 Rare relic.
[Time Dilation] All enemies start with the Slow debuff.
[Flight] You may ignore paths when choosing the next room to travel to.

*Note: You can have more than 1 starting relic.
