How to unlock the Fashion Statement achievement in Sleeping Dogs - Definitive Guide

For this achievement, you'd need to change every item of your clothing, either in your apartment's wardrobe, or directly in buying from a clothing store. The items to change are:

- Hat;
- Torso;
- Pants;
- Shoes;
- Bracelets; and
- Glasses.

Personally I think it's easier to do this in a clothing store if you want this early into the game. After doing the first mission and a couple of favors, you should have enough to buy one of each item at a clothing store. It's harder to get it in the apartment because you may not have one of every item in your wardrobe when you just started the game.

Comment from sarsage: bracelets and glasses are not necessary. You can get this achievement immediately after completing the "Vendor Extortion" mission.

You don't need to change bracelets and glasses, plus you can do this at the end of the Vendor Extortion mission when you visit the clothes shop.

Thanks for the comment. The first shop where after Vendor Extortion was where I got my achievement as well, but I didn't know about not buying bracelets and glasses.

Also, if you got the "Just Cause 2" clothing perk, this doesn't work. Enabling the outfit won't give you the achivement.

You just need to change torso, pants, and shoes, i.e. clothing. Accessories don't count.

Yeah, weisguy9, same comment has been posted approximately 11 months ago and have been updated to the solution since.

Nope. It wasn't. The previous comment mentioned bracelets and glasses. You also don't need hats (or chains which you didn't even mention at all). If you're going to post a solution, at least take the time to check that it's accurate before doing so. Also, maybe the previous comment should have been a clue for you to go back and check the rest of it. It's not my fault if your solution is incorrect, and you fail to correct it even after being told it's incorrect.

Yeah, weird, because the first store I went to didn't sell pants so I bought torso and shoes. Went to another store and bought pants, and the achievement popped. Never had bought any hats, though. Might be a glitchy achievment.

Might be worth mentioning that I flipped on the game for the first time and just picked one of the DLC packs to start and after the first cutscene it just unlocked. Figured there was a change of outfits from main game to DLC or something of the sort.

@WeisGuy9, you're right that he didn't update his guide, but I don't think you're right about the hat. I didn't bother with this achievement until after the game, and the first place I went to didn't sell hats. I switched out every piece of clothing I had on, based on your comment, and got nothing. I went to the next store and they had hats, it unlocked when I bought one. At least one person on x360a's forums also needed to purchase a hat, and most guides I found online also claim you need to change the hat. One video I found also showed the guy unlocking the achievement as soon as he bought a hat. (http://www.airdroneforum.com/youtube_browser.php?do=show&amp...)

Oddly, the store at which I unlocked the achievement didn't have any pants for sale, so I demonstrably didn't change all of my clothing right there. It must either span multiple visits to the same store, or run across all stores, or stores of the same chain, or something. Possibly you ran into the same thing I did - only you didn't need to change hats, instead of pants - and so that led you to the erroneous conclusion that hats are not needed.

I just got this, you will have $500 when you go to buy clothes the first time. All you need to buy is torso, pants and hat. Achievement will pop upon buying the hat

To the negatives out there, please explain why the negative. I never looked at anything but those three things and the achievement popped for me upon buying the hat. If you give your reason I could make this solution better. If you dont then its just gonna stay this way, so please help me help you and others

I'm not sure. Your description looks fine. I wonder if you need to look at the other categories, too? Like the bracelet slot, etc. Eh, some people just downvote for fun, too. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you own the "Year of the Snake" DLC and you want to earn this achievement very quickly, you can.

After the opening cut-scene it'll pop as soon as you take control of Wei as you will be in a standard traffic cop uniform.

To do this, you just need to have a piece of clothing for every slot outside of the starting outfit. you'll get this quickly, but if you keep buying things in the clothing shop (part of the tutorial missions) you can unlock it before the tutorial is over.

I had a bunch of spare items just from random free dlc packs, but even with out them, you can do this just after the game begins (there's a two mandatory missions before shops unlock).

Simply go to one of your apartment locations and change your clothing; hat, eyes, necklace, torso, pants, left arm, right arm, shoes.

In the beginning of the game when you go to the Night Market and collect the pay for Winston, Jackie will tell you to get some new gear so you can be a part of them. Just buy a new Hat, Torso, Pants & Shoes.

This one is rather quite simple. Simply head to one of your apartments or a nearby clothing store, and purchase and equip one item in each of the following categories. Note that purchasing new Glasses, Chains, Watches or Bracelets for Wei isn't required for this trophy:

  • Torso
  • Pants
  • Shoes
  • Hats

Dress up Wei as a typical triad member in baggy jeans or a high-roller in a nice name brand suit, or whatever you want, to unlock this trophy.
