How to unlock the Ultimate Fighter achievement in Sleeping Dogs - Definitive Guide
During missions:
-During hand to hand combat grapple and break the leg of enemy's (X-hold X) then when they are stunned press (B-B) to ninja kill them which will get you a lot of XP
-When shooting, make sure to go for head shots, this is easiest done when using a pistol or rifle, however the game is pretty forgiving when it comes to head shots
-In a car chase try to kill all enemies and try to blow up cars and bikes instead of just shooting tiers however doing both gives you even more XP
Certain clothes give you a triad XP bonus you can get a bonus of 5% 10% and 15%
15% Bonus clothing

If you can possibly afford it, download the top dog silver pack for 160 MSP ( I think something like that. The gold is 240 and the silver is less ) This will net you 8500 XP or so at the beginning of the game and will almost guarantee you getting this. This will start you out at level 4 and get you 4 of the 10 upgrades
If you can't do that, here are some ways to get more XP:
1. Start trying to build up your Face XP as soon as possible. You want to get to level 7 as fast as possible so you can buy the:
J. Jiggler Straight Leg Jeans,
Couronne Puffy Vest Red
Achete Stand Up Boots
Here's a video showing them and where they are:
You raise your Face XP Level by completing Favors, Races, Drug Bust and completing Martial Arts Club fights. Races and Martial Arts club get you the most face. However you need to unlock some cars to do the races so I did the races right after the Wedding mission.
2. If you die or fail a mission, it's better to cancel the mission and replay it from the start instead of redoing from a checkpoint. This is a giant pain because the loading screen is way longer, and if you die, you must pay the hospital bill. Also you start back at the hospital and will have to go back to the mission start. However when you continue from the checkpoint, you lose any XP you gained up to the point of mission failure. If it's towards the end of a mission, that could be a lot of XP.
3. The more Jade Statues you get, the mode varied mores you'll have access to. The first time you hit an opponent with a certain move you will get good XP. However if you keep doing the same move, most times you will start to get less and less XP so it's good to keep doing different moves. The only exception is noted below.
I'd try getting the Grapple and Leg break and the Ninja kill as fast as possible. These will give you good XP. Also if you can finish the Jade statues early as possible, the last move you learn is the Dim Mak. This will net you the most XP. The reason why is: you can hit each opponent with it at least 3-4 times before they die. And even though you will get less and less each time, you will end up with more XP at the end. Try it and see. Also you will almost never be damaged when you use it. It's boring and it takes a long time, but it's worth it for XP.
4. When using a gun, the best thing to do many times is to try hitting something that is explosive to blow up 1 or more of your opponents. When you aim, look for something that glows. If there is 1 or more opponents close to a glowing object, shoot that to get a good bonus.
Otherwise, head shots are the best to get if you can.
Also don't forget to Vault over cover and get some easy slow mo Headshots.
5. During car chases, always try to kill the people in the cars as opposed to shooting out the tires to get more XP
6. Try to drive carefully during missions so you don't cause damage to people around you and to other objects. You will lose XP this way.
Many of these things I'm posting I didn't initially do so it took me longer to get this achievement.
If you finish the game and don't have all 10 upgrades, don't worry it's possible to redo the missions to get a higher score.
Hit the start button and scroll down to the social Hub and scroll over to the missions tab. It will show you what score you got for each mission and also if your friends played this game what they got too. Here's the highest score for each mission that I found so you'll know how you did and if you can improve your scores much. Some of these scores are pretty impressive.
For the record, most of these are my friends scores, not mine.

Good luck
1. In a melee break the legs of an enemy by grappling him, and then X - X (hold). Afterwards he will be stunned and you attack again. That'll net you quite some points.
2. While shooting use headshots as much as possible. Sometimes a pistol is better than an SMG. A Rifle is the best for this.
3. If possible, always destroy cars and kill people via explosions. Also goes for car chasing. Rather make them explode, than shooting the tires.
During mission
- Do lots of leg breaking and finishing off with a ninja move (B+B)
- During shooting, do lots of disarming, fluid striker moves and aim for headshots
From my experience, when re-playing missions to get your triad level higer, aim for those with less Red Triangles full.
No matter if a mission goes for +2k points or just 200, if you got a 200 points mision done with 1 full red triangle, and then replay it and fill the 3 red triangles, your overall triad level will get a better increase than making a 2k points mission go from 2 to 3 full red triangles.
So, instead of aiming for super high scores on the missions with more points, just replay any missions where you still dont have the 3 red triangles full.
There are only 10 Traid Upgrades. So you have to reach rank 10 to unlock all Upgrades. You unlock Traid Upgrades by completing Traid related missions. These missions are slightly different than the Cop missions. In Traid missions you start with no points, blank triangles.. The way you level up is highly dependant on how creative you get with your kills. Also there are certain clothing and items that help boost your Traid XP, allowing you to rank up faster.
If you do not reach level 10, you can replay any Traid mission. You may replay mission by pressing > Social Hub > Missions.
Every time you complete a mission of any sorts, you will gain experience towards Triad upgrades in addition to cop experience. Note that this is the only time you can earn experience.
Triad experience is earned by defeating/killing triad members, performing different types of combos during brawling sequences, or by just blowing stuff up and causing mayhem. Putting in a good performance such as getting Headshots, using a variety of Melee Combat Moves, Disarms, Vault Attacks/Kills, and Environmental Kills reward you with higher Triad XP. Normal kills and repetitively using the same melee moves will result in lower XP earned.
Equipping Clothing Sets such as the Red Pole/Mountain Master Triad sets rewards you with bonus percentage of the Triad XP earned. If you have not unlocked this by the end of the story, you may replay missions from the Social Hub. You will be awarded with additional XP only if your new Triad score is higher than your previous one.
