How to unlock the Adept of Mastery achievement in SMITE - Definitive Guide
I just wanted to throw in my two cents here as someone who has played on PC for years, has all the gods mastered with 7 or 8 Diamonds and was not exactly crazy about doing them all over again to fulfill the achievement completionist who lives inside me. Here are some things that may help you.
1. How do worshipers work? The amount of worshipers you gain is time based. Essentially, the longer the match, the more worshipers. There is also a win bonus if you win the match.
2. You earn worshipers at the same rate in every game mode. Don't feel pressured to play a game type you hate; it's the same everywhere.
3. Double (and triple!) worshiper weekends! Double worshiper weekends will cut your time in half. An Arena win is 16 worshipers during a double weekend, and 24 in a triple. Meaning you would get 8 (or 12) for a loss, which is the same as a win using normal worshipers.
Keep an eye on them as they pop up at least every couple months or so. You can always expect them on events such as holidays or Smite's anniversary, however there are some randomly so check every week or so. They are always announced on Hi-Rez's website here: http://www.smitegame.com
Getting a god to rank 1 requires 50 worshipers, so during double worshipers in Arena you would need 3 wins (16 x 3 = 48) and one where it doesn't matter if you won or lost. Which is a heck of a lot better than normally.
They have also done a triple worshipers event, but only a few times. Keep an eye out for these promotions.
4. Boosters. If you want, you can purchase boosters which will give you 25% more worshipers. You can buy them in different amounts (1 day, 3 days, etc.) and focus on god mastery during those periods. You also get a free booster after not playing the game for 30 days (a "Returning Bonus") and can earn them through leveling up as well.
A NOTE ABOUT BOOSTERS -- IT ONLY GIVES YOU AN EXTRA 25% OF THE BASE WORSHIPERS! For example, if the original worshiper amount was 8, and double worshipers makes it 16, it will only give you an extra 25% of 8 = 2. 16 + bonus 2 = 18 worshipers total!
5. Suggestions for easy to play gods? Sure, though this is just my opinion. Most are not too hard, but if I had to pick the 40 easiest, 8 from each class, these would be my suggestions.
Hunter: Ah Muzen Cab, Anhur, Apollo, Artemis, Cupid, Medusa, Neith, Rama. Truth be told all Hunters play very similarly. If you can play one you can play them all. No one in this pool I would consider difficult.
Guardian: Ymir, Geb, Hades, Athena, Bacchus, Khumbhakarna, Sobek, Sylvanus
Mage: Freya, Poseidon, Kukulkan, Janus, Nu Wa, Ra, Scylla, Chang'e or Isis
Warrior: All easy to understand kits, and there are only 9 so there's not much point listing them. Bellona, Chaac, Guan Yu, Hercules, Odin, Osiris, Ravana, Sun Wukong, Tyr, Vamana. Tyr is the hardest (but still not hard per se) out of these.
Assassin: Fenrir, Loki, Arachne, Bastet, Thor, Nemesis, Hun Batz
All of the tips above also apply to the Diamonds Are Forever achievement for getting one god to rank 10.
Please let me know if you have any questions, I should be able to help with anything. Also, quick "back in my day" rant, back in my day it took 100 worshipers to get to rank 1, which they changed eventually, so we have it easy this time around. Happy achieving!

To master a god you need to earn 50 Worshipers while playing as that god.
The following is taken straight from http://smite.gamepedia.com/Game_Elements#God_Masteries_.26_W...
As pointed out by KBop a doo the differences was patched out. So pick your favourite mode and have fun.
If you are just getting used to Smite and have done the tutorials I would recommend going into Arena matches. Currently my arena matches last around 15 minutes. With a win that's 8 worshippers per match. So that's 7 Wins or 13 losses to reach God Mastery Rank 1. Conquest games run longer so you need to determine if you want a couple arena matches to every one conquest.
I would recommend playing regularly, getting used to the game and finding out what classes you like and don't like. This will let you master quite a few in that class as it would match your preferred playstyle. You can get to Rank 1 using auto buy skills and items in a couple hours.
Boosters which you can buy in the marketplace give you a 25% increase to worshippers earned. Though these costs gems which are purchased with real money.
Lastly, keep an eye out for double worshipper weekends as this will cut the amount of matches required in half!
Let me know if I missed anything or if you have any questions.

Hi,
PC player here who just recently started Xbox. That website is very out of date it seems. Conquest does not give more worshipers than Arena/Assault etc, that was patched out about a year ago (Xbox version is identical to the PC version and is only like a month behind in patching). You get the same amount per minute spent in every game mode. Here is the link to the patch:'

Just figured it was worth mentioning so people don't feel obligated to grind Conquest since it's not earning them anything extra.

Hi, I mentioned this on the other post and I'll just copy and paste what I wrote:

Check out the official Smite page for all of the gods: https://www.smitegame.com/gods/
Mastering one god means you must raise them to 50 worshipers. Taking full advantage of double worshiper events will be a huge help to hitting 40 gods mastered. I suggest starting with god types you prefer (mage, hunter, guardian) and then working toward styles you do not like.
