How to unlock the Death from Above achievement in SMITE - Definitive Guide

In order to get this achievement you need to get the killing blow with your leap attack.

If you look at the gods abilities in the main menu you can see what type of ability it is and you can see it during the game by pressing up on the d-pad. It will say it under the ability name.

There are many gods that have leap attacks but most of them are very hard to last hit your enemy with.

The best god to do this with is Awilix. This is because she has two different leap attacks.

Her first leap ability allows allows her to ride her panther which gives her increased movement speed and can jump off to attack her enemies. This will make aiming way easier then most leaps because you can stay on your panther as long as you want and its harder for the enemy to run away. For the most part though you will be using this to get into the fight.

Her second leap ability can only be activated after you basic attacked the enemy at least once. You can not miss this attack as long as you stay near the enemy after basic attacking them. This is the one you will be getting most of your kills with. This attack does a lot of damage and all you have to do is last hit them with it.

Using the second leap attack to last hit the enemy i got about 20 kills in just 2 games. When i would use the other characters i would barely get any kills with their leaps.

Thanks to Eurydace for adding that you can also get this achievement pretty easy with Odin and Freya. Freya has her ult which is good to use in arena. Odin has his leap, but not all the kills will count because some will count as a shield explosion kill.

Thanks to McRedRover for adding that hades leap is pretty easy to get kill with compared to other characters.

Thanks to Slam Shot Sam for adding that serqet ult counts as and leap and if they die from the poison it still counts as a leap kill.

Thanks to BlackS1lver 666 for adding that bacchus' cn_A is good for getting leap kills when the enemy runs away.

Thanks to Purple DinDono for adding that fenrir has two leaps that do a lot of damage.

If you know any other characters with good leaps post it in the comments and i will add it to the solution.

Freya's ult counts as a leap. Could get decent progress with it in arena and she's a bit easier to play than Awilix.

Odin's leap does a ton of damage and you'll get lots of kills with it, but that's because of the shield explosion. When you get a kill with the shield explosion (when you land the leap), it does not count as a leap. So while it's possible with Odin, it's not really ideal because 4/5 kills will not count as a leap.

Hades "Death From Below" has worked pretty good for me. I'm not sure if it's as good as the others since I have not used them.

I suggest to use Odin's buff leaf attack, that "Birdbomb". Does some hefty dmg and very hard to avoid.

Serqet was easiest for me, her ult. counts as a leap, doesn't have to be aimed and it does poison damage over 5 seconds, which still counts as a leap kill if they die as a result.

I made some progress whit Thanatos his ult. Very good because you can see when the enemy is low enough to kill with it. And it is not that hard to land.

I can't edit my previous post, but I used that ult in last nights session and it did not count. Must have had progres left on it from a earlier game when I thought I got i before

There's also Fenrir who has 2 jumps and deals pretty massive damage.

I'd rather correct my mistakes myself than wait for someone else to do it. But no problem.

Bacchus has a body slam move that works. Although he is a guardian, it's quite powerful and works well when the opponent is drunk.

Odin makes a poor choice for this, his kit skews more heavily toward defense. Not only is his leap best used with his sheild (5)7: making many of the kills not count), his leap must be used to get away as well as get into the fight and this only becomes more true the more you focus on offensive gear during a match. If you prefer to get this more slowly during Conquest matches and you can get an early gold/level advantage Odin may be a good choice, but Arena ought to be much faster and Fenrir or Awilix will tend to get a lot more kills given they’re oriented toward burst damage.

Now, if Odin is a preferred god and you play him a lot, this will eventually pop sometime before you rank him to Mastery 10, but if not try Fenrir or Awilix. I assume Thor’s ultimate also counts and is likely good for at least 2-5 kills per match.

Finally, in Arena use the columns which ranged characters tend to use to block direct line of sight, Odin and several other gods can leap over these, this how you get the most reliable leap kills. The only Odin tip is you can leap in your Ring of Spears for a kill as long as the trapped god has no escapes (e.g. Neith will simply leap out).

I've just made a list of all the God's with Leap abilities here, (as @ Nov 4th 2015)
- The Choice of God is really up to you & your play style. You can focus on a god with more than one leap ability or one that has it as an ultimate. The variety of gods listed here can also help while your try to Master several gods for other achievements. If your finished with Siege/Joust/Conquest, Arena is best for maximizing your God kills.
- Please note: The ability type must be 'Leap', as abilities where you appear to jump in the air & land as not always a 'Leap' ability;
ie. Thor's ultimate cn_Y 'Anvil of Dawn' is actually a 'Ground Target' ability,
or Thanatos's ultimate cn_Y 'Hovering Death' is also a 'Ground Target' ability.

Here's the list of Gods & Abilities, (as @ Nov 4th 2015)
Awilix cn_X Summon Suku - Damage: 80/130/230/280 (+80% Physical Power)
Awilix cn_A Feather Step - Damage: 60/90/120/180 (+50% Physical Power)
Bacchus cn_A Belly Flop - Damage: 90/130/170/210/250 (+70% Magical Power)
Bakasura cn_A Take Down - Damage: 100/160/220/280/340 (+60% Physical Power)
Bastet cn_B Pounce - Damage: 80/145/210/275/340 (+100% Physical Power)
Bellona cn_Y Eagle's Rally - Damage: 100/200/300/400/500 (+50% Physical Power)
Fenrir cn_X Unchained - Damage: 95/155/215/275/335 (+80% of your Physical Power)
Fenrir cn_B Brutalize - Damage: 45/75/105/135/165 (+50% of your Physical Power)
Freya cn_Y Valkyrie's Discretion - Damage: 120/150/180/210/240 (+35% Physical Power)
Hades cn_X Death From Below - Damage: 50/85/120/155/190 (+60% Magical Power)
Hou Yi cn_B Divebomb - Damage: 70/110/150/190/230 (+60% Physical Power)
Hun Batz cn_X Somersault - Damage: 50/90/130/170/230 (+70% Physical Power)
Kali cn_X Nimble Strike - Damage: 70/120/170/220/270 (+80% Physical Power)
Neith cn_B Backflip - Damage: 60/100/140/180/220 (+80% Physical Power)
Odin cn_X Lunge - Damage: 120/165/210/255/300 (+70% Physical Power)
Osiris cn_Y Lord of the Afterlife - Damage: 220/320/420/520/620 (+80% Physical Power)
Serqet cn_B Ambush - Damage: 80/140/200/260/320 (+50% Physical Power)
Serqet cn_Y Last Breath - Damage: 228/342/456/570/684
Sun Wukong cn_Y Somersault Cloud - Damage: 140/190/240/290/340 (+120% Physical Power)
Tyr cn_Y Lawbringer - Damage: 150/225/300/375/450 (+120% Physical Power)
Xing Tian cn_B Sky-Cutting Axe - Damage: 65/85/105/125/145 (+30% Magical Power)

- Note 1: Chronos's ultimate cn_Y Rewind doesn't do damage so unless you get creative it won't kill. Also Scylla's cn_B Sentinel (does low damage) Summons a 'pet' & teleports you, so I don't think is counts, nor is it worth while trying.
- Note 2: I just put the Damage amounts for reference, these will change with Items equipped & ongoing Patches to balance characters. I probably won't update these.
