How to unlock the Embrace the Darkness achievement in SMITE - Definitive Guide
Requirement:
Embrace the Darkness – “As Nox use Siphon Dark and Shadowlock to deliver the killing blow to at least 3 enemies in one match.”
***This achievement may be bugged. I earned the in-game award Embrace the Darkness but did not unlock the achievement.***
Multiple reports, including me, that the achievement is unlocking for those who originally earned the in-game award but did not get the achievement. It seems to be fine now.
Explanation:
To earn this achievement you must get three kills individually using Nox’s skill combo Siphon Darkness/ Shadow Lock. You must place Siphon Darkness (2nd ability/ on Savage) on the ground under an enemy God. Siphon Darkness is a damaging ability with a silence. The silence from Siphon Darkness forces enemy Gods to walk outside of the ground target AOE, they are unable to use any movement ability to escape. Before the enemy God walks outside of the Siphon Darkness bubble, you must cast Shadow Lock (1st ability/ on Savage). Shadow Lock will root and cripple the enemy God inside the Siphon Darkness bubble. Two seconds after Siphon Darkness is cast the ability will explode dealing massive damage.
Note – Siphon Darkness deals no damage until the bubble explodes 2s after being cast. Both Siphon Darkness and Shadow Lock last 2s so you do not have to worry about timing the ability’s damage. Shadow Lock is a channeling ability, you must stay within range of the enemy you hit or the ability will fall off. You are able to use instant cast active items while channeling Shadow Lock without interrupting it (Purification if you need to avoid CC).
Tips:
Siphon Darkness/ Shadow Lock deals a ton of damage. Make sure to max CDR along the way; both abilities do not have reduced Cooldown as they level up so to increase your chances you need to cast this as often as you can. Max Siphon Darkness first, it has 100% scaling which allows you to deal so much damage. Hitting this skill combo requires a little bit of practice to get the timing down, but soon you will be deleting people left and right. Allies with stuns, roots, taunts and similar CC will make landing the combo easier. Enemies that are smart will pick up Purification. Purification is the only way an enemy can escape the combo once applied other than your teammate pushing them out of the bubble (Sobek, Tyr, Khepri etc.) If you are having difficulty landing Shadow Lock consider switching your controller layout to Savage. This will allow you to cast both abilities without you having to remove your thumb from the Right Stick RS. I strongly recommend you always play on Savage, it allows more accurate casting. Additional if you are using the cast mode “Normal” consider switching to “Quick” or “Instant”. Quick casting allows you to hold the ability button to see its path just like normal, but if you press the button it will instantly cast the ability.
If you have any corrections, tips, or tricks comment and I will be sure to edit/ add them.

This achievement may be bugged. I earned the in game award but did not unlock the achievement. I have edited the solution and posted here for more visibility. This may be like the Release the Kraken achievement. I would consider waiting to do this achievement until we know it is working.
