The quickest way I found to complete this was the following :
Play thru the game until you open the ' Gargamel Cup ' . Once you have the Gargamel Cup open go to Free race and play the track ' On the Roof with Azrael ', over & over , until the achievement pops .
Ensure you are playing as Astro Smurf
In free play you can choose your track and in the ' On the Roof ...' track there is a lot of free air time - I was getting anything between 35 - 40 secs a race.
When you are going down the stairs if you hug the left hand side you can grab another second or two by jumping before dropping down the step and spending a little bit more time in the air
You can also choose your own settings ... I just turned off all items and set the AI to normal.
