You just need to be in a public match when it ends for each of the 6 modes:
- Team Deathmatch
- Deathmatch
- Team Distance King
- Distance King
- No Cross
- Control
It does not matter if you win or lose.
It does not matter if you join a match in progress.
Can be done in private. Elimination is not required. (by GavInxs)

In SE3, you had to also have played campaign, overwatch and survival. Is that not true for this achievement as well?
Last night I played MP, and completed a match of Control. When I played TDM and No Cross, the host left, host migrated and set us back to the lobby. I'm assuming I did not get credit for them.
The You'll try anything once achievement in Sniper Elite 3 (Xbox 360) worth 36 pointsPlay 1 mission in each mode (campaign, challenges, competitive multiplayer)

To get these in private you need to fully play out each mode which is 20 minutes per match, Except for Control which is 25, but in Control, you can capture the radios to speed things up reducing the time to 10 minutes or less. All told it will take you about 2 hours to do this with a second console and account. You don't need XBL on the second account if you use it on your home console.

There are 6 game modes for you to complete (not win). These can be done in private with a friend or with randoms.
The game modes are as follows:

If the host ends, the game will end instead of looking for a new host this won't count. Make sure you press when at the scoreboards at the end of the game so that it goes to a "finishing game" screen. You can also join games in progress for this to count. If you aren't boosting, then I would highly advise to use the game browser instead of a quick match to look for the games needed. Alternatively, you can create one making it public, and wait for randoms to join.
This is an online achievement. There are six modes you must play and complete in order to unlock this achievement:
- Team Deathmatch (50 kill limit/20 minutes) - team based; kill the opposing team
- Deathmatch (25 kill limit/20 minutes) - free-for-all; kill anyone
- Team Distance King (5000 score limit/20 minutes) - team based; kill the opposing team, the distance at which you kill someone is your score for that kill (50 meters = 50 points towards 5000)
- Distance King (3000 score limit/20 minutes) - free-for-all; the distance at which you kill someone is your score for that kill (50 meters = 50 points towards 3000)
- No Cross (no score limit/20 minutes [10 minutes each side]) - team based; there is an impassible area in the middle of the map, kill the opposing team
- Control (4 capture limit/20 minutes) - team based; teams fight for control of a radio drop
This can be unlocked in both public matches or in private matches with one other person.
Title Update Notes: Since release there have been numerous title updates that have added additional multiplayer game modes. It has been confirmed that they are not required for this achievement to unlock. Only the original six game modes listed are needed.
