How to unlock the Technical achievement in Snoopy Flying Ace - Definitive Guide

At the end of each mission you are awarded up to three medals based on your performance. For this achievement you need to be playing on Veteran difficulty and get all three gold medals on all six of the listed missions. You can monitor your progress via the in-game achievement tracker at the main menu.

Birds of War:
- Use a heavy plane so you can absorb more hits from the Squintos without dying
- Ignore the score bonus for getting hit by less than three Squintos
- Keep using your turbo throughout (A button)

Ring Race:
- Once you're familiar with the courses these races are straightforward enough to do in a medium or light plane without clipping any rings
- Use your airbrake (X button) on tight corners / when a pickup boosts you off course

Follow The Leader:
- Stay in the green smoke as much as possible
- Perform the tricks when prompted on the bottom right of the screen
- Use a medium or light plane

Unlike Professional and Hero, the missions for the Technical achievement are best done solo.

The big headaches here for me were the Ring Races. I'd just add a bit to your solution that you can take it VERY slow and still get three gold medals. Once I figured this out, I was done. I was close to 2 minutes per race and still got the three golds.

You can actually hold the break down for 100% of the "race" to complete Ring Race. It's incredibly simple. You don't have to care about the time at all for Birds of War either.

The same generosity goes for Follow the Leader; you can keep messing up over and over and still get the golds.

Here's how I did it:

RING RACE - Forget about being fast. Choose a light plane as they are smaller and fit in the rings better. Go through the level as slowly as possible so you get points for < 3 rings hit. Just hit X whenever you are close to a ring. If you find it difficult to maneuver through the rings while turning, try to adjust your position so that the next ring is in the middle of the screen. It doesn't matter where your plane is, if the ring is in the center of the screen, you will go through it. Take your time. Do a scout run first if you want so you know where the rings spawn.

FOLLOW THE LEADER - I used a Light plane. This mode is very forgiving. You can get off track many times and miss some of the stunts, and still get 3 gold medals. Focus on trying to stay at the proper distance. You don't have to be "in the smoke". It's all about the distance you are from Charlie Brown. If you get off track, use your turbo to catch up and don't lose hope. You can still get the 3 medals. You do want to focus on doing most of the acrobatics when prompted as you get more points for that. Learn the route too,

BIRDS OF WAR - Choose a Heavy plane so you can absorb the hits from the bombs. Figure out the best/shortest route to go from one Bird to the other, so you can get the Time bonus. I discovered that if you hit the Turbo button 3-4 times per second instead of holding it down, you will go faster. Use this to get the Time Bonus, which is what you need to get all stars. Forget about the Damage. You will get hit more than 3 times, but if you get all the other objectives, you will get the 3 medals.

You can check the criteria for getting 3 gold medals in-game by pressing Start and then Objectives.

After each mission (on Veteran difficulty) you are scored between one and three gold medals. For this achievement, you need all three gold medals on all six of the Navigation Missions. This can be done in single-player, local co-op, or online co-op. You can check your progress in the Achievements menu on the Main Menu, or on the mission select map.

For the Ring Race missions, you can get bonuses for finishing quickly, as well as for hitting less than three rings as you fly through them. In the Birds of War missions, you can get bonuses for finishing quickly, not dying, and hitting less than three mines. In the Follow the Leader missions, you get more points the closer you stay to the green portion of the leader's smoke trail, as well as points for executing the prompted aerobatic stunts, and bonuses at the end for executing all of the stunts and never bumping the leader.

The Ring Race and Follow the Leader missions are better done solo, since they're more about precision flying than eliminating enemies quickly. For the Birds of War missions, a partner might help you finish quickly, as long as they can fly as precisely as you. If you are having trouble getting all three gold medals on a Birds of War mission, try looking for a partner online.
