There are 12 logging sites in the base game (first three regions Michigan, Alaska and Taymyr) where you can pick up wood. For the achievement, you need to visit all sawmills or logging stands in the three areas. It was reported that going into the yellow dashed area around the sawmills or logging stands counts as visiting.
There is a 14th logging yard on the fourth Russian map The Rift, but it‘s not required to go there for the achievement to unlock.

Here are the locations:

Michigan (3):
- Black River: Sawmill x1
- Smithville Dam: ---
- Island Lake: ~~Log station x1~~, Lumber Mill x1
- Drummond Island: Log station x1
Hint for Island Lake: The Log Station in the northern centered part of the map does not need to be visited for the achievement. Visting it does not increase the achievement counter.

Alaska (6):
- North Port: Sawmill x1, Log Station x1
- Mountain River: Sawmill x1
- White Valley: Sawmill x1, Log Station x2
- Pedro Bay: ---
Hint for Pedro Bay: There is a location called Stock Loading where you can get wooden planks, but it does not count towards the achievement.

Taymyr (3):
- Drowned Lands: Sawmill x1
- Quarry: Sawmill/Old lumber mill x1
- Zimnegorsk: Sawmill x1
(- Rift: Old lumber yard x1)
Hint for Rift: The map was released after the base game, the Old lumber yard does not count towards the achievement. It's left out of the overall count.

Additional comment:
Please note that with Phase 3 of Year 1, the logging feature was included into the game and some of the previously unused logging spaces became equipped with new logging stands (i. e. the Log Station in the northeastern part of the Black River map in Michigan). These don't have to be visited for the achievement to unlock. Just refer to the list above.

After checking this myself, it is proven that there are only three logging areas in Michigan that count towards the achievement. The Log Station on Island Lake is not necessary to be visited for the unlock criterias.
So there are only 12 log stations to be visted to unlock the achievement, instead of former 13.

Do we know what classes as visiting?

Can i just drive through in a scout, or do i need to acces the loading bay menu, or actually pick up some planks?

I believe it is enough to drive near the sawmills or logging stands to unlock it.
The locked sawmill in Zimnegorsk may not be used in the first place, but if you approach it, the counter should go up anyway.
But since some of the achievements require the DLCs to be completed, it might be that you must go to the ones in the Kola Pensinsula as well. There was no description that only the sawmills of the base game are required for the achievement.
I know it was different with the main contracts.

Driving thru the yellow loading square is what counts the logging area. The truck doesn't matter. Zimnegorsk won't be counted until you complete the mission "Sawmill Recovery".

On my first play through I noticed that the achievment progresses in 8,33% steps. So there are only 12 and not 13 log stations.
Now I am on my second play through and can tell, that the log station in Lake Island does not count. I think it is because it is the only one which is not a pure log station. There are also metal beams. It's more like the warehouse in Smithville where you can get wooden planks, metal beams and concrete blocks.

But before I adapt the solution, I‘d like to get confirmation from a different player. I think that my counter increased when I approached the log station.

After two tries, i was still missing 3, one was Lumber Mill Revival, Island Lake and Sawmill, Zimmergorsk, both had contracts to build Mill / Sawmill first, before it counted, and lastly White Vally Sawmill, as i never even went there, it was still greyed out, as i never been down near it, so i didn't notice at first.

Just drive through every sawmill/logging zone you'll encounter (you can press

within the loading zone to be safe). You'll visit most of these places while doing Contracts/Tasks/Contests, so don't go out of your way just to get this. You will need to build the last sawmill by yourself as a part of a task, which will probably be the last logging area you'll need.

You do not need to go around all sawmills and logging stations, but only those where you can load “Wooden Planks”. Objects with logs are not needed!
There are 14 such objects in total. You can drive up in any car, even Scouts.

Missed it in Alaska, the Logging Station is in the right center of the map opposite the lighthouse.

I was looking for one sawmill for 3 days. I traveled to all the regions, all the maps several times, took screenshots of the places I was and nothing. One sawmill turned out to be unmarked in Zimnegorsk. Although it was written that "the map was released after the base game, the old lumberyard does not count towards the achievement.
