How to unlock the Newtron achievement in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Definitive Guide

Simple achievement. Go into matchmaking and select either race,arena or lucky dip and when you select your character, select the question mark at the bottom of the character select screen and voila you have your achievement as the race/battle begins.

AceCardJones is right! I started up Matchmaking, preparing to do 10 matches using a random character, but then instead it unlocked as soon as my first race started. I thought it was a different achievement, but then I could no longer find the one that wanted me to complete 10 matches with a random character.

Notice how this achievements initial requirement if you check it on your Xbox before getting it is completely different? It wanted you to do 10 matchmaking races with a random character.

You just need two racers. The other guy dropped out but I got the achievement.

Newtron - 10G (Original Achievement)

Difficulty: 1/10

To get this Achievement, you must select "Random" as your character choice for a multiplayer race.

As said simply press the A button when in a lobby to select your character, and select the "?" bar at the bottom to be Random. This Achievement will unlock once the race begins,

Go online into a matchmaking game and join any match. Once the match begins simply click the ? Button at the bottom right and this will unlock once the match begins.

Go to Matchmaking, and when you visit a lobby make sure you go to the Character Select screen and select "Random". Wait until a race/event starts and the trophy unlocks as soon as the event/race starts.
