How to unlock the Tornado achievement in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Definitive Guide

This achievement requires you to pull off a Level 3 boost from drifting in flight mode. You drift by holding left trigger while accelerating (right trigger). You can use the left stick to control your drift somewhat. The easiest and earliest opportunity for this in my experience is the Rogue's Landing stage.

The flight sections are fairly wide open, and if you really just want to get this achievement you can simply just drift in a continuous circle until the you charge a level 3 boost. Achievement pops immediately.

***Important***

If you have flight assist turned on, please disable it as you can't turn in circles with it on. ( Contributed by ETERNAL INFERNO)

Make sure to turn off flight assist in the options, since it won't let you turn in a circle on.

The map is called “Rogue Rings”, the level right before you’re able to unlock Vyse in Scorching Skies.

This isn't working for me. Assist is off, I fly in circles with both triggers, but it keeps conking out once it hits level 2.

Edit: Never mind, seems I was making my circle too tight. Managed to pick it up on After Burner.

I got it on Dreamy Drive in about 10 seconds. Super easy!

In order to unlock this achievement, you will need to drift in the air (hold cn_LT) for around 10 seconds. It doesn’t matter if you get the boost or not what matters is that you made it to level 3. An easy level to do this in is Rogue Landing, as its one of the earliest levels you unlock in the game.

You can do this while attempting "Sonic Drift" on the air pirates stage. Alternatively this can be done easily on panzer dragoons stage. Hold and make sure the plane is drifting and turning as slow as possible (lightly hold , don't completely let go or the drift will stop).

Just pick a ring race from World Tour, ignore the rings, find an open spot and keep holding drifting (R2) around until you hit level 3 air drift.
