Good guide. I recommend acceleration with Sonic. Thumbs up.

Thanks for the comment. Just added your suggestion! smile I lost my old profile, so I don't have the achievement yet again, but checking which cup you won is sort of hidden.

Hello, I think you can check which cup you won by checking the little number on your cup trophy. If you have been 2nd place for example, there would be a little number '2' on that specific trophy. It is right under the letter 'S' (or other letters, depending on difficulty chosen for the cup)

This achievement can be a pain if you go into it unprepared.
You see,the problem is you win the expert cup by getting a podium finish (1st, 2nd or 3rd) and the cup looks the same for every finishing position.

So i suggest as soon as you unlock expert difficulty and are ready to tackle Expert GP,start on the first GP and keep playing it until you place 1st on the podium.
Or at the very least write down the ones you have come 1st on,or you will find yourself replaying them over an over trying to find the GP you need 1st on.

Yes,this did happen to me and i got very frustrated and cursed myself for not making a note in the first place.

Rattling these out at the moment - it's piss-easy to get 1st because the CPU all seem to perform equally adequately. I won one after completely cocking up every race and only getting 25 pts!

Just remember to make a note of the onesyou have definatley come 1st in or you may find yourself replaying them all again to find the one you missed.

Yep, I definitely agree with Acceleretto, it's nowhere near as difficult as I thought it would be because the game doesn't do the Mario Kart GP tactic of picking one CPU character who will lead the pack in each race and deliberately target you.

Ah..I did not know that.
I'll look into it and correct my guide if necessary.

It is difficult to see, but Arsenal is correct. Just above the rank is a tiny number. That number is the highest position you've reached at that level (CBAS)

You do not need to come first in every race, you just have to place 1st overall at the end of the GP.

Hi, I may be wrong, but there's a way to see which one you won @ expert: go to Custom game, create, and in the track selection screen the cup that you won @ expert will have a crown.

I agree with Alacant7:
"go to Custom game, create, and in the track selection screen the cup that you won @ expert will have a crown." and would add that you need two controllers active to see which GPs have crowns on them.

Also, make sure you let the custcreen finish when you win: I didn't and had to repeat Emereald Cup Mirror! - managed to do it fater than the normal Emerald Cup tho :)

Hello Folks,

Excellent tips all around here from previous guides. Acceleration mod being a great option... in my opinion... Sonic, Gum, Shadow are the most superior. How to check which GP cups you have gotten 1st podium, etc...

Now I'd like to add something that helped me "cheese" it a little bit for those struggling to beat the AI in EXPERT. This works for all "Race" types events including World Tour Races, World Tour Boost Races, World Tour Battle Races, Grand Prix Races... Basically any event that you are competing against all 10 other characters.

If you have a couple extra controllers (i have total of 4), hook'em up and join them to the game as guest. It basically removes 3 contenders off the race and I am not entirely sure why, but I was never able to fail at coming 1st place after doing that. I mean, the difficulty curve seems to be humongous after adding the 3 inanimate players split-screen and i cant really tell why... but the expert event becomes quite easy.

There is ALSO the added advantage that the three players you add to the event will level up a bit on each event, effectively allowing you to speed up the process of unlocking MODS that may help you get closer to 100% game completion. So make sure you do not add a STAR level character, and always add a character that can level up.

Hope this helps others with this game that can become a bit tough at times.

You're going to want to use a fast character with a decent Boost to really fly through these GPs. I personally used B.D. Joe's Balanced Mod; occasionally switching to Vyse or Shadow; it's a good balance of speed and boost and the handling is still good enough for most tracks (change to someone else for the harder tracks if you're not comfortable with only 3/6 for handling).

Expert difficulty Grand Prixs' AIs are tricky but if you know the tracks well you'll find they're not really as good as the S-Class AIs in the World Tour. Also, I noticed in the first five GPs, all of the opponents seem to get even results by the end of the four tracks, I won one GP once with only 27 pts! (But it seems that you'll find a few opponents who really perform in the Mirror GPs, these may take a few more tries but I still won one with 33 pts once, so you do have a fighting chance).

Try and be tenacious with weapons and your boost pad lines too; it really is the key to flying ahead. Plus, you'll only get the chance to have one All-Star per race - remember this if you need to save it 'til just before the end of the race to steal some positions.

Any other questions, leave a message.

I am reading here that some people seem to have trouble finding out which Cup has been finished as 1st place and which Cup not.

The problem is that you can win a Cup as 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed, but for the achievement you must win all Cups as 1st placed.
(It means you need the most points, not winnig every race as 1st)

So Cups with 2nd and 3rd place will not count and you have to do them again.

But what if you have won a Cup already as 2nd or 3rd and you don't know anymore which one it was?

Simple trick:
Look at the trophies, specifically at the letters. Directly under the letter is a small number that shows at which place you won the Cup.

Example:
I won the Emerald Cup on hard difficulty as 2nd place. For that I got a gold trophy (for beeing on the podium on hard). On that golden Emerald Trophy was the letter 'A' (again for beating the cup on hard).
Directly under the letter 'A' was a small number '2'.
All my other trophies had a small '1' on the letters, but this one had a small '2', because it was the only Cup I have not beaten as 1st placed.

This works as well with the letters 'C', 'B', and (most important ^^) the letter 'S' (for expert difficulty). wink

In short:
If you don't know anymore which Cup you have not beaten as 1st on expert, look at your platin 'S' trophies and check the small number under that 'S'.
If it shows a '1', then that Cup is beaten. If it shows any number except '1', then you have to beat that Cup again and be 1st placed for that Cup so it counts as beaten.

If you have a full set of platin 'S' trophies with little '1' numbers on them, the achievement is yours. smile

Should be easy enough with some decent skill. Make sure to abuse drift boosts, pick a speedy character such as Vyse, Ages or whomever you feel comfy with and make sure you have a basic understanding of the stages. Hopefully luck will be with you and you won't have a super AI who comes first or second every race. For the most part the AI is balanced, but sometimes you will have that super AI who just won't leave your rear view mirror.

You'll unlock 6 trophies (or more if you follow the roadmap) on your way to this trophy. Basically finish each tournament in 1st place on Expert. You don't have to win EVERY race, but the final standings count. On the podium celebration at the end, your character must be in the middle, higher than everyone else. During races, use your weapons wisely, keep your distance away from other racers, and make sure you don't drive in straight lines. Driving in straight lines makes you vulnerable to other racers who has ice and firework.

You should unlock these trophies along the way to this trophy:

Holosseum
Racing Hero
Gale Racer
Nomad
Welcome To The Fantasy Zone
The King of Speed
