How to unlock the The Beginning achievement in Sonic Frontiers - Definitive Guide
This is story related and can’t be missed. Once you have completed the A Grave Mystery puzzle and climbed the waterfall you will fight Giganto.
During this battle you cannot take damage as you are Super Sonic however the ring counter will drop making this a time based boss.
The easiest way to beat Giganto is to parry his swipe (hold LB & RB) while he charges it as parry is not time sensitive. Once he is stunned press B & Y to hit him with the spin dash.
At approximately 50% HP he will enter a cutscene where pylons come out his back. The battle remains the same except he has a new move where he shoots a laser at you. You must mash X to escape this ASAP.

After obtaining six of the chaos emeralds on Kronos and talking to Amy enough, you'll eventually raise a statue at the top of the waterfall and get the objective to climb to the top. Do so by heading "behind" the waterfall to find a spring to bounce on to start your climb up. At the top, after a cutscene, you'll fight the huge Titan from earlier. This fight can be insanely frustrating if you don't go into it prepared and knowledgable about what to do to win.

- Before even approaching the Titan, grind out some rings using your light dash () in circles on the ground. Build up a solid 150 rings before even starting, because your rings constantly drain even during QTEs, and if your rings run out, you die and have to start the whole fight over again. This is especially important if you die or need to start over. You definitely want to grind out some rings to give yourself enough time to win the fight
- The second most important thing is to understand how parrying works on this game. It isn't timing-based at all. Instead, you just need to press AND HOLD and together. With both held in, any attack that hits you will be parried automatically, regardless of how much later it comes. Don't make the same mistake as me and try to time button presses for parrying attacks
- The third most important thing to know is that, for whatever reason, when you have to mash during QTEs, mashing it as fast as humanly possible DOES NOT WORK. I went all out to try to speed it up to avoid wasting rings, but I ended up failing if I mashed too fast. Instead, you need to mash at what I would call a moderately quick rate. It's impossible to put in words, when when he shoots a laser at you, you can mash at slightly varying rates to find the sweet spot that increases your meter at the quickest rate.
- Boost forward () right to his head, punch it and then immediately hold to unleash the neverending flurry attack. Do this until he pulls back, which means he's about to strike.
- Hold and to parry his incoming punch.
- Immediately after you parry his punch, press + (you'll see a very small prompt for it on screen). This does a counter attack that takes off a significant amount of his health
- Repeat the above steps one more time to finish the first phase
